The crew didn’t wanted to declare a fuel emergency.

Why? Are there penalties on such emergency and is it cheaper to fly LGW-LHR?

Strange decision indeed, with two runways just below the LAM hold it would safer to stay at LHR than divert to an equally busy but single runway airport.

Titan Airways charter flight AWC-941 / ZT-941 G-POWD 767-300ER from London Stansted to Rzeszow (Poland) declared mayday when it crossed the Dutch coastline (North Sea) east of The Hague, and diverted to AMS Amsterdam after a loss of pressurisation at FL370. According to a Dutch spotters forum, the oxygen masks deployed. The crew also asked for medical assistance at the gate.
