HLN says a piece of the engine broke off, that might be the case. In aviation terms it's called an engine stall ;-)

It seems that there is a bomb alert at BRU.

Railway traffic Brussels Airport <-> Brussels downtown will probably be disrupted for the rest of the evening, after a failed terror attack at Brussels Central railway station. Apparently traffic on the North-South connection is put on hold now.

Could be an urge for fresh shrimps but most probably an FR24 error.
RWY08 was in use at that time and the arrival appears normal until FR24 looses the signal (same happened with another HOP! SambaJet (NTE > LIL).

FR24 then assumes that the flight continues along that last heading that aims straight at OST.
Last reported was below 3000ft on approach, and LIL web site announces landed at 16:26.

OO-TEA is still 400km out. But you have probably FR24 (or similar) at hand?

OO-TEA E190 on its way with 5hr 15 min delay.

What is strange is that this aircraft flew BRU-REU-BRU at the time that its should have been flying to FAO. It means that another TUI airplane was AOG somewhere...

Good luck anyway. Have a nice flight. And enjoy the extended holiday :)

According to FlightStats
http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightSta ... umber=7874

OO-JVA was planned for the flight.
Today at 11:26 Brussels time : •Tail Number Changed From OO-JVA To OO-TEA
At 14:09 Brussels time : •Estimated Runway Departure Changed To 06/25/17 09:25 PM
At 20:32 Brussels time : •Estimated Runway Departure Changed From 06/25/17 09:25 PM To 06/25/17 09:50 PM

As the ETA BRU was set at 01:03 for an ETD FAO of 09:25, you may now expect ETA BRU 01:30

Hold on, you should be boarding in about one hour from now.

Have a safe return flight.

OO-JVA taxied out of BRU early Saturday morning for TB-6877, but then became AOG.
OO-JAO came to rescue, but only late Saturday night.

Thanks all!
And about extending the holiday: I'm unfortunately already at the small and crowded airport since 14h30 with a 3 year old...
But we got a voucher of 20 euro per person for food and drinks.

Your estimation of the arrival time was excellent, we landed at 01h31 (and departed around 22h local time in Faro).
If I'm correct, we can file for a compensation of 400 euro per person...

You can, but good luck! TUI doesn't easily open its wallet...

Emirates EK-184 (B777-300ER A6-ENZ), scheduled departure 15h05 on Saturday afternoon, took off around 24h on Saturday night. BRU-DXB Brussels-Dubai indeed.
