As from today, the whole Benelux airspace is monitored/protected by two Dutch F16's from the Leeuwarden Airforce Base.

Will these F-16's defend our airspace when Trump arrives or will that be Belgian F-16's?

Good question, but Trump's arrival will not change anything. The Dutch will remain in charge.

And the problems continue : cancellation of the day (15 may 2017) on Long Haul SN fleet : SN 372 Yaoundé-Douala-BRU ! Which flight will be the next one ?

The next one is KL-714 (PBM-AMS Paramaribo-Amsterdam): a 23 hour delay. Could be because of a bird strike, I don't know yet.

KLM is having a series of technical issues the past few weeks, causing grounding of the aircraft for more then 24 hours. Excluding bird strike incidents:

PH-BVK: engine damage, grounded at Shangai
PH-BFV: engine damage, grounded at Bejing
PH-BHA: engine damage, grounded at Rio
PH-BHF: fuselage damage (ground collision at AMS)
PH-BVA: engine damage, grounded at Hong Kong

Currently over North East Mexico near the US border and Gulf of Mexico.

These balloons seem to be a daily occurrence at the moment. Around midnight CET.

As I understand it, in most EU countries only mode-S transponders are valid for areas where one must be carried, and active; so we'll only see more of them. They are already commonplace in airliners; they will become so too, over the next couple of years, in more modest aeroplanes. Which includes balloons, and also gliders, ultralights, experimentals, warbirds and other antiques, &c &c So more and more of these will be showing up on FR24 and the like.

My own is to be installed in two days.

I seem to remember that Hungary was involved in a trial of Free Routing Airspace but that was during night-time.
Is it now a 24/7 free airspace?
Couldn't believe I'd see this before my body temperature has dropped significantly.

I think so, yes. Actually I am surprised they remain the sole European country to do away with the 20th century concept of airways.
