Brussels-Venice with Brussels Airlines SN3201
Brussels-Venice with Brussels Airlines SN3201
It was to be my very first flight to Venice VCE. I tried to check in and get my boarding pass on the pass-wallet of my phone early the previous day (in the past this was possible immediately after midnight), but this time I had to wait until exactly 24 hrs before departure.
Normal passage through the airport (Connector, etc.) until departure gate announced aa A28. This was my first time at that gate in the basement of the connector with a view on the apron between Pier A and Pier B. But soon the gate was changed to A29, on the opposite side.
Going from A28 to A29 you can see the four large barrels of Stella Artois for serving in the Café upstairs.
Anyway, being downstairs means bussing to the aircraft, which was in the DHL parking. I was in the second bus.
Flight: Brussels Airlines SN3201, codeshared with United Airlines and Air Canada
Date : 07 Sep 2016
Aircraft: Airbus A319 OO-SSE
From-To: Brussels - Venice (BRU-VCE)
Seat: 22A (window seat in the back)
Scheduled/Effective Time of Departure: 09:45/09:51 (GMT+2)
Scheduled/Effective Time of Arrival: 11:20/11:26 (GMT+2)
Scheduled/Effective Duration of the flight: 1 hr 35 min/1 hr 35 min
Boarding was slow, through the fact that only the front door was used. Friendly welcome by the purser and two other cabin attendants. Load factor was close to 100%. Push-back was slightly late, nothing to worry about. Take-off from the usual 25R and most of the flight in nice weather at FL370 over Germany and Austria.
Buy-on-board service was efficient, with a slight mistake of the stewardess for my bill: a coffee (Nescafé, 3€) and a chocolate muffin (3€) should be on promotion for 5€ together, but I was billed 6€!
Very fast Venice was in sight; nice view from the right of the plane, but I was on the left, with a view of the industrial area.
Landing on 22R, with the same slight delay as on departure. We had to wait for the stairs a few minutes in the plane. After disembarkation of the passengers, there was a change of crew.
And to continue to the city of Venice, what else than a vaporetto straight from a dock at the airport itself? For the return flight to Brussels from Treviso with Ryanair, see trip report here: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=59333

it's the inflight sales software that didn't recognize the new menu deal and the crew is unable to put in the discount manually, normally they should have charged you € 5,00 as its published in the menu card and this should always be in the favor of the passenger (only with cash payments this is possible of course)

I paid by credit card, hence no modification possible. But of course I didn't make a fuss about it: it got me 6 "miles and more" on my Amex cardCTBke wrote:about the BOB error;

Hé! Ho! You were able to pay food and drinks with AMEX? I was refused that this summer. Only allowed for "tax free".sn26567 wrote:I paid by credit card, hence no modification possible. @ankaKr: which part of "they refused" did you misunderstand?
Anyway.. they answered and it seems to be a recent policy change.

Re: Brussels-Venice with Brussels Airlines SN3201
Why was there a change of crew in Venice at this time? I would imagine this is only happening in BRU or with lonh haul flights or night stops.. Just wondering..Landing on 22R, with the same slight delay as on departure. We had to wait for the stairs a few minutes in the plane. After disembarkation of the passengers, there was a change of crew.
Re: Brussels-Venice with Brussels Airlines SN3201
Venice is indeed a night stop.
