Hi all,

Whatever direction it is, I think this is good ...

I see a place for Eurowings along with SN at BRU. Eurowings for destinations like Salzburg, Innsbruck, Malta, some more destinations in Greece, Dublin ( :D ), Cork, Jersey, Madeira, ...

And also some long haul destinations that will never be flown by SN: Miami, Las Vegas, Mauritius, Cape Town, Seychelles, the Carribean on behalf of Thomas (they send their clients now via Condor, Germany I think) ...

Cheers,
Danny

Moreover, I will be able to use this route soon.

Next year I have a project meeting in Salzburg in July, and usually I am not looking forward too much to go there because going BRU-VIE-SZG is something I want to avoid and flying to MUC and then take the train is OK, but not my favorite eaither.

So yes, would be good to have this direct connection :D

Cheers,
Danny

As previously mentioned here is the SLZ-BRU days when they fly:

eff 13JAN17 Salzburg – Brussels 4 weekly (Day x246)

I checked prices in January and they are high around 250 perway (so 500 return).

Flight hours:
Salzburg (SZG) 6:05 PM
Brussels (BRU) 7:40 PM
Brussels (BRU) 8:15 PM
Salzburg (SZG)9:50 PM

Good schedule, bad price! Probably because the lower ones haven't been entered yet...

Think I'll stick with LH/OS via FRA. Flying via FRA gets you there in the morning (or at least during daylight) AND you will have one of the last opportunities to fly an OS F100 :-)

Another small ;) correction: BRU-SZG flights are available from 34.99 € and SZG-BRU from 29.99 €. So 64.98 € return...

Hi all,

Some news on BRU for the winter season (maybe some of this was already mentioned somewhere on the forum):

- Air Malta will increase its flights to BRU with 4 additional morning flights due to Malta presidency of the EU

- Royal Wings from Jordan will offer flights to aqaba once a week (on Tuesdays)

- RAM will offer Tanger and Nador on a year-around basis from this winter onwards - frequencies not clear

- Air Algérie will add a frequency to Alger (from 3 to 4/w) and the weekly flight to Oran will become year-around

This is on top of the announced Salzburg flights, the Chisenau flights, the winter flights of SN to OPO, NAP, ..., etc.

Seems BRU is doing great despite the difficult times !

I still don't have a clue whether Ryanair will go on with its intended expansion plans (Hamburg, etc.) Can anyone confirm? I ask because I think this might have a bigger impact on pax numbers. Even if I will never fly Ryanair, I mostly welcome them @BRU ... :D

Cheers,
Danny

Ryanair now also offers convenient day returns between BRU and HAM / MAD / MXP, bookable as from the start of the Winter schedule.

Did they not intend to connect to more additional destinations than those three. I think they spoke about 1.0 million additional pax from BRU, no?

They might increase the number of flights to existing destinations. Hence, it would be interesting to know what the difference is in offered number of seats compared to winter 2015-2016.

Turkish Airlines:
Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen – Brussels route is reduced from 7 to 5 weekly compared to Summer 2016. The route was not yet operated in Winter 2015-2016.

United Airlines
:
Chicago O’Hare – Brussels Boeing 767-300ER operates entire winter season. Previously 777-200ER was scheduled from 30OCT16 to 04JAN17

Newark – Brussels Boeing 767-300ER replaces 777-200ER during the following period (EWR departure): 16DEC16 – 03JAN17. The rest of winter season sees 767-400ER service (no adjustment)

Hmm, interestingly enough BRU-ORD remains operated with PMUA aircraft (premium, incl F) while EWR remains operated with PMCO aircraft (non premium, excl. F).

it's still part of their program removing GlobalFirst from it's fleet (only the 747 will keep the GlobalFirst as they'll be retired soon)

Washington-Brussels will be on the 767-400 as well as from January

Yes that's bad less seats this winter and no second flight to New York from UA :-(
Maybe Brussels Airlines is recovering well but Brussels Airport is not doing so good...
And that after Jet Airways left the market, share of Brussels to Nord America feld down!
Still a lot of work ...
Hasta la victoria siempre.

the downgrade to the 767-400 is just a minor difference as the 777 holds 50/217 (in the new C/Y layout) while the 767-400 has 39/203 so it's not really a big difference in offered seats on the market.

IAD-BRU will be on the 767 as from January, so we'll see the 777 till the end of the year
