Wouldn't it be possible to add at least a section of taxiway alongside the far end of 07R in order to make it more operational?

Aircraft landing only rarely use full length of 07R. Adding that extra taxiway would only provide a marginal gain, if any. It's about 2.20 KM to the last exit, this is plenty for pretty much all aircraft using that runway during the nighttime.

The rather small airport of Bordeaux has received its third diversion today. Rather exceptional:

- Germanwings 4U9642 from Dusseldorf to Faro
- Ryanair FR9886 from Liverpool to Alicante
- Condor DE1438 from Hamburg to Lanzarote

Not impossible, but neither easy nor cheap: it would need to cross the Tervuursesteenweg (N227?). And, as has been explained, there is little need.

On 15th May, some 15.000 spotters / visitors went to Perth Airport to see the first arrival ever in Australia of an Antonov AN-225. Shipment was a 112 ton transformator for a mining company.

Warning for all those Luchtzak members who say they have replaced BRU by AMS: there are two ongoing strike warnings for AMS Schiphol: one by security and one by KLM

Indeed. Who said there are never strikes at AMS? FNV, the trade union for security controllers, will stage a first strike tonight at 1900. For 10-15 minutes. Announced as the first of a series of actions...

AMS asks passengers to come well in advance to avoid any problems...

AMS anyone?

Amsterdam had a second (also short) social action by trade Union FNV Beveiliging this noon. Just for 15 minutes (at 13h30). Two smaller unions already accepted new propositions from AMS management and didn't joined the 15 minute strike, so delays for passengers were limited to 0-5 minutes.

Basicly, FNV Beveiliging (the largest AMS security trade union) demands that the "stand-up time" at the new central passengers control centres is reduced from 2,5 hour to 1,5 hours, that the lighting at the "central security posts" is adapted (seems the spots reflect on the monitors/screens) and that the lavendel aerie odor (where people have to take out out their shoes...) is stopped.

It seems that AMS management offered to reduce the stand-up time at the central security posts, but only after 01 Sept 2016.

On 13 July 2014, 5A-ONP = an almost brand new Afriqiyah Airways Airbus A330-200 was damaged at Tripoli Airport during the civil war there. Lots of damage by bullets.

Till today: 5A-ONP just flew from Tripoli to the Airbus factory in Hamburg. At 10.000 ft, and apparently with a route very close to airports. Routing near Marseille, Reims, Charleroi, Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam to Hamburg:

Norway closes part of its airspace due to technical problems

Norway has closed part of its airspace due to technical problems.

"We are working on sorting out the problem. Delays can be expected but we can't say for how long," an airport operator Avinor spokesman said on Tuesday. He said the airspace over Oslo was open and that the closure was affecting western Norway.

European agency Eurocontrol separately said on Twitter the outage was due to a radar failure at the western city of Stavanger, Norway's oil industry capital.
