It just popped in my mind that Airasia is also a Malaysian company. This might have been mentioned in other posts already, I am a bit too lazy to read through all messages again.

If the 3 last major crashes were all 100% involved with Malaysia, it is a bit difficult to still call this a coïncidence.

The flight QZ8501 was operated by Indonesia Air Asia, and airline based in Indonesia of which Air Asia (Malaysia) owns 49%.

MH370, a flight of a Malaysian airline indeed, went in the drink for reasons unknown to date, possibly after an act of unlawful interference.

MH017 ended up to unintentionally occupy the same piece of space and at the same time as a high velocity foreign object of unknown origin to date.

I am personally much more concerned about aviation safety standards in Indonesia rather than in Malaysia., but this is only a personal comment.

Which actually means they were able to downloade the CVR...

The AirAsia flight that crashed in the Java Sea, killing 162 people, climbed too fast before stalling, Indonesia's transport minister has said.
Ignasius Jonan told a parliamentary hearing in Jakarta that flight QZ8501 had ascended at a speed of 6,000ft (1,828m) per minute.
No passenger or fighter jet would attempt to climb so fast, he said.

There were no survivors when the plane crashed on 28 December, en route from Surabaya to Singapore.
The Airbus A320-200 is thought to have encountered difficulties from an approaching storm.

Fewer than one-third of the bodies have been retrieved from the crash area, where debris was scattered across the sea.

'Faster than a fighter'

Citing radar data, Mr Jonan said: "The plane, during the last minutes, went up faster than normal speed... then it stalled."
"I think it is rare even for a fighter jet to be able to climb 6,000ft per minute," he told a House of Representatives commission.
"The average speed of a commercial aircraft is probably between 1,000 and 2,000ft per minute because the aircraft is not designed to soar so fast."

Fighter jets can go way faster than 6000ft/min
For an airliner, It's unusual, but not abnormal.

Do we have members on board who can explain what can cause such a sudden rise in altitude?
If a pilot would do it manually to avoid a thunderstorm, he would have received several warnings, also stall?
And the voice recorder would record some conversation between the pilots?

Is there 1 possible technical cause that can result in such quick climb? - except of computer failure.

Remi Plesel, the French first officer of the passenger jet that crashed into the sea last month, was at the controls just before the accident, Indonesia's lead investigator said on Thursday.

Using a hand-held model of an A320, officials demonstrated to reporters how the aircraft veered left and climbed steeply to more then 37,000 ft (11,300 metres), before rapidly losing altitude in the moments before the crash.

Captain Iriyanto, 53, an Indonesia air force veteran with about 20,000 flying hours logged, was believed to have taken over control of the aircraft from the less experienced Plesel when it started to ascend and then descend, officials said.

The stall warning - an automated voice that repeats the words "stall, stall" - had sounded in the cockpit. The aircraft was still in a stall when the black box recordings ended seconds before impact.
