Brussels Airlines is a passionate Red Devils supporter. Flight SN2014 which will fly the Belgian Red Devils to Brazil today is a special one. It will bring the Belgian football team and coach, together with a delegation from the Belgian Football Federation, members of the Belgian press and supporters, to São Paulo in 14 hours. The aircraft will make a technical stop in Dakar (Senegal). It is the first time in history that Brussels Airlines is flying to South America.

The sporty delegation will be welcomed on board by enthusiastic crew members, all of whom are football fans, and numerous surprises have been planned. For example, the panels that separate Business Class from Economy Class will feature life-size photos of the Red Devils in action. To add to the football atmosphere on board, a synthetic turf carpet will replace the regular aircraft carpet. This turf carpet has been manufactured especially for the occasion by well-known Belgian manufacturer Desso. Even the Airbus A330 aircraft has been painted in Belgian colours and sports a huge Belgian Red Devils logo.

The entire Business Class on board has been reserved for Kompany, Fellaini, De Bruyne, Courtois, Hazard, Witself and the rest of the team so that they can travel in premium comfort on the flatbed seats. In consultation with the Red Devils’ cook and their nutritionist, special meals have been prepared. The menu includes fresh fruit salads and fresh yoghurts, a beetroot salad with apples and walnuts, cod with wholegrain pasta and spinach, and panna cotta made from soya milk and raspberries. In order to get the Red Devils’ biorhythms in sync with the time difference, the meals on board will be served according to Brazilian meal times.

Brussels Airlines has been the official airline of the Belgian Red Devils since March. “We are especially proud to be part of this Brazilian adventure with flight SN2014, and we hope that it will be a long time before we have to plan the Red Devils’ return flight to Brussels,” said Lars Redeligx, Brussels Airlines Chief Commercial Officer.
