Re: Private Chinese firm to buy 100 regional Sukhoi jets
I doubt these 100 units to be all delivered... They already now cannot speed up production and reach a descent production rate. If they set-up a factory in China, as stated, it will take them ages as well to get that done.
The Sukhoi Superjet is not a bad product, it is a pitty it suffers under the bureaucratic and corrupt way Russia is run. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these, I do like this regional jet...

This is good news in fact.
More competition - more choice.
We as Europeans do not have to complain that there could be set up an assembly line in China. We could have invited Sukhoi to form a joint venture in Europe as well.
I contradict the above doubt about the project. The Chinese order + production partnership is just an advantage for this project.
Delivery will even speed up. I have seen enough in China. While we here in Europe strangle potential investments with uncountable regulations, it is set up very quickly in China once the order "go" has been given.

One big problem of this A/C is the lack of spare parts, 2 of them are operating from Laos but are AOG right now due to no spares available.
