Hi all,

with pleasure I announce that a part of the Belgian registrations is allready available thanks to liebensd (Dave)!! You can check it at https://www.aviation24.be/modules.php?name ... ries&cid=5

To make it easier to work I have given Dave an administrator-function. Sabena_690 will of course remain the forum administrator whilst Beco is still in charge of the news submissions. Still looking for someone who would love to administrate the Weblinks! ( https://www.aviation24.be/modules.php?name ... opic&t=636 )

greetings,

Bart

Thanks Frederic,

The registrations of Thomas Cook, Virgin Express and SNBA should be ok. If you would find an error please send me a private message.

Greetz,

Dave

Congrats, Dave. I realise it is a big job and it will take time to complete it, but I'm sure you will succeed.

Look for cooperation from Aerobel: they have already a very nice, although incomplete, database.

André,

The system of Aerobel is taking pictures and find some information. The meaning of the Luchtzak database is to be complete whiteout pictures.

Dave

I am looking for which Belgian airline was operating the DC-8-55 (c/n 45854) registered OO-PHA .

It also carried the following registrations in succession: JA8017, N910R, 5N-AUS, N81906, C-FFUK, N81906, OO-PHA, N819SL, 3D-AIA.

Thanks in anticipation

I got it, thanks to Dave: Skyjet!

That completed my search for the companies oerating DC-8s in Belgium

OO-TCP: Pomair Ostend
OO-AMI and OO-CMB: BIAS International
OO-PHA: Skyjet

Dear André,

I don't believe Skyjet actually "operated" the dc-8, and although it (probably) had this Belgian registration, i suppose it didn't move an inch in the States.
It surely was never seen in Belgium, and i am still waiting for a photoproof of this plane. The same could be said of B737's OO-PHC, OO-PHE, OO-PHF and OO-PHG of the same company.
Skyjet (Belgium) was formed on 15/10/90 and they had ambitious plans with these 5 aircraft.
But i believe the first flying object for this company was a JAT B727 YU-AKK, which was operated between July 1991 and October 1991. I even made a photo of it @ BRU.
Then in 1992 newly formed Skyjet (Antigua) received their first DC-10 V2-LEA later transferred to Skyjet (Belgium) as OO-PHN, "many" DC-10 would follow later on.
The story of Skyjet is a very interesting one as other "subsidiaries" like Skyjet (Brasil), Skyjet (France) also saw some light....
