Industry sources suggested that the delay may be a negotiating tactic by Qatar Airways to secure a better deal .

First Airbus A350 delivery to Qatar Airways now set for 22 Dec 2014 at 12:00 in Toulouse. The date of the first revenue flight to FRA remains unchanged (15 Jan 2015).

The second operator of the A350, Vietnam Airlines, has opened reservations for seats on the aircraft to fly between Hanoi and Paris CDG (from October 2015).

As of 17DEC14, QATAR Airways restored A350-900XWB Frankfurt service on 16JAN15. Inaugural on 15JAN15 unchanged. Qatar Airways has taken delivery of its first A350-900 A7-ALA (msn 6) as the type's launch customer on December 22 and then ferried the aircraft to Doha on December 23.
The Qatari national carrier is currently operating the aircraft on several daily training flights between Doha and Sharjah.
It plans to put the aircraft into scheduled service from January 15 on one of its two daily Doha-Frankfurt services.

Imho its not paint. Its a protective sheet. If you look closely on the video and on some picture, on the inboard side you can see it peeling off.

SriLankan Airlines majority shareholder, the Sri Lankan government, says it will launch a full investigation into the carrier's 2013 decision to acquire four Airbus A350-900s and six A330-300s from Airbus Industrie at a cost of USD2.3 billion.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's office said in a statement that an inquiry into the airline's operations, undertaken by a four member committee headed by a lawyer J.C Weliamuna, had uncovered several instances of gross irregularities which warranted criminal prosecutions against former executives.

Finnair Helsinki-Brussels: A350-900 equipment to operate on 12-Oct-2015, 16-Oct-2015, 20-Oct-2015, 21-Oct-2015, 06-Nov-2015, 10-Nov-2015, 13-Nov-2015, 17-Nov-2015 and 20-Nov-2015, with twice weekly service from 03-Feb-2016. The carrier is the route’s only operator.

Airbus has dispatched an A350 XWB development aircraft (F-WWYB - flight AIB359) from Toulouse to Kathmandu loaded with medical personnel and relief equipment on behalf of several French NGOs. The aircraft will, on its return flight, repatriate roughly 200 French nationals.
