I know what stalling means; read the topic title, its about market share and you're right, you're not stalling, you're currently plunging even.
Oh dear, not enough planes; what a joke.
FWIW- tens of planes are parked over winter, but as good as noting happened either, did it?
WE are in shortage of planes, Ryan is in shortage of routes to fly their planes on, most of the year.
Yeah, I know about the problems, some friends from me we forced into þe base, with all the fiscal consequences that go with it: obviously they left, meanwhile, just like a lot of other guys; they are here now.
Make sure to have qualified pilots left by the time your little jets arrive, although it doesn't seem people are so eagerly waiting your arrival in BRU as Micky thought they would, nor does the airport btw.
Lets say it the way it is: BRU wants to get rid of Ryan, that's pretty obvious from all they say and do and you cant blame them, they have much better candidates lined up: we need your remote stands for a Pier extension for our daily A380 flight for instance.

Sure you dont have a clue and neither do your "friends" because nothing of what you say is actually correct! They really pissed you off didnt they?
What is the marketshare of FR in belgium? Anyone got figures on that?
Enjoy your 55C sandstorms I also have "friends" in Dubai who are desperate to get out of that overheated golden cage giving up their "shiny" B777 or A380 to fly for Ryan, jet2, easy or Norwegian :p

We sure don't need your daily (?) A380.UAE777 wrote: Lets say it the way it is: BRU wants to get rid of Ryan, that's pretty obvious from all they say and do and you cant blame them, they have much better candidates lined up: we need your remote stands for a Pier extension for our daily A380 flight for instance.

Obviuously, it is true that FR did a great job in Belgium, esp. benefiting from the Sabena demise.
However, I would say that SN & FR handled about the same numbers of PAX in 2014... However, I would give the N°1 position in 2015 to SN again regarding the last months figures...
Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
I think not, according to the figures in the centre for aviation presentation, FR has actually captured an additional 4% of the belgian market going from 21% to 25%. Which means that 1 out of 4 passengers in Belgium this year are getting on or off a Ryanair flight

The day nursery is opened...that it is painful !

What's the problem? Is this a topic about market share or not?
Or is anything that you dont like "nursery stuff"?

Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
I looked up on the web the following statistics:
Jan-May on SN: 2765044
Jan-May in CRL: 2621100 (as I couldn't find precise FR data, Maybe Sean can???)
In CRL today left 17 non FR flights and 16 FR flights left BRU, so it should even out and be the right order of magnitude.
Conclusion in pax: close call...
If we would compare in Revenue Passenger-kilometres, I think SN would win given the long haul flights...
Cheers,
Stij

Lies, damn lies and statistics!!!
Jan-May
SN 2765044
CRL 2621100
BRU 8664083
------------------
Total 11285183
Market share for SN = 24,5% => they're just as big!
P.S. ANR, OST and LGG not considered...

Thank you very much for these much appreciated detailed information!
In terms of PAX flown, SN and FR do have about the same market shares. If the trends continue however, we can expect SN to re-take the lead in 2015! Interesting and much respect to both for pushing the belgian market forward ! Well, even if you know about my fav´ (see my nickname;-)) !
Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
A market share comparison should be done with equal parameters. Example: to compare the figures of two airlines at Brussels Airport, or compare the figures of two airlines, overall in Belgium.Stij wrote:Jan-May

Some people (and I do not point to the above post) use joined figures from two airports to establish “a market share at Brussels Airport”. That way, figures from Charleroi are used to increase a much lower market share at Brussels Airport.
So far, we can only conclude that Brussels Airlines has a 24,5% market share at Brussels Airport. It could be that Ryanair has more, but we then need to know their figures for Brussels Airport only.
Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
SN actually has a market share of 32% at BRU. (2765044/8664083)

Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
Why? That doesnt make any sense? It's not that belgium is big enough to consider different catchment area's.Airbus330lover wrote:Yes but...market share @ BRU not Belgiumsean1982 wrote:What's the problem? Is this a topic about market share or not?

That would mean that SN wouldnt have to care about what FR does in CRL, if they only care about BRU
Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)
Sean, do you have detailed FR pax figures for CRL and BRU?
So we can calculate both BRU and Belgian market share...
I can t find them...
