Then it would be wise to cancel the IAD route and to keep or increase the capacity on Africa. Too many competitors are flying to Africa and it would be not good to decrease overthere.RoMax wrote:The thing is of course, if they are relaunching IAD this summer and they want to keep the capacity they added in Africa this winter, they need an additional aircraft or they need to downgrade some African routes again.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I don't think they increased the Afi flights compared to S14, only compared to W13/14. The IAD flights were not daily and they have permanently a plane in C-check during winter. So, full capacity will be back in S15, allowing increase in Afi flights, even if IAD resumes.Atlantis wrote:Then it would be wise to cancel the IAD route and to keep or increase the capacity on Africa. IAD is already loaded S15.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Any news on the arrival dates of those 2 planes which went for a repaint in Ireland?
One was a new plane even I think, the other would get 'something special'?
I am curious.

SSU returned to BRU yesterday, has already returned to service. I'm curious about the paint as well.Inquirer wrote:Any news on the arrival dates of those 2 planes which went for a repaint in Ireland?

SSI (the 'new' one) is still in SNN, I think.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Luchtvaartnieuws.nl mentions that 3 A330-200s will leave the KLM fleet in 2015 (end of lease).
Will those become available on the market?
If so, maybe they could be a good addition to Brussels Airlines' fleet?
Best regards,
Duke

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Surprising...as their oldest ones are only 10 years old! Maybe a good opportunity indeed, if only for partial renewal, but probably not cheap.

A new guess about the special livery... A livery for the 185th anniversary of Belgium

When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SSP has been ferried to Ostrava yesterday...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I've passed through M&E at B32 a few weeks ago and if I remember well I saw boxes with titles as "OO-SSP Recaro seats" so my guess is that's SSP is just undergoing a C-check and a modification of it's seats (and hopefully the galleys too) but I'm not 100% sure about thatcrew1990 wrote:OO-SSP has been ferried to Ostrava yesterday...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
If they change the interior of the OO-SSP, it will mean that it will stay on the fleet for a couple of years more, but I'm quite surprise about this information, the new recaro seat are not the one for the OO-SSI coming shortly?
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SSP is undergoing heavy maintenance in Ostrava .
