Did Anyone Fly On Concorde?

Post by Comet »

With the Concorde still in the news, I thought it would be interesting to know whether any Luchtzak members ever flew on the aircraft?

If so, what was it like?

(I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I didn't know if it was relevant to Airline Experiences or not, so I put it here).

I dreamed of a Concorde flight for many years and was still busy collecting the necessary money (a lot !), but now I'm too late ...

So I didn't make a flight, but I really liked to do ...

Yes 777, please tell us what it was like.

I would have loved to fly in Concorde, my Grandad offered to buy me a trip on a charter flight operated by Concorde, but when I received the brochure, I discovered I could not practically make the timings (the flight should have been from Leeds, but then again it might be changed to Bristol at short notice) - that was no good to me and so we abandoned the idea.

But I love reading about other people's experiences on Concorde.

I find this very hard to believe.

Surely you were at the airport in good time to check in? Even if it left one hour early, I would have thought you would had to have checked in and not left it until the last minute!

flying the concorde

I did - but - it was a promotional flight, London-Manchester-London during the time BA grounded all of its 737's - and of course not supersonic. I was airborne in the Concorde and that was about it. Named for the "concord" between England & France during its design and construction, France won out having the "e" added to the name.
