I filed for a complaint through the travel agency, not mentioning any amount, but got be paid within the next two weeks. That is a way I appreciated very much!sn26567 wrote: ↑14 Aug 2017, 09:35Did TUI give it automatically or did you have to insist?MD-11forever wrote: ↑14 Aug 2017, 08:25It's not really the number of hours of the delay that is important, but rather the distance that is an important factor if I'm correct.
I got 400 EUR compensation for a delay of 5h30 from Faro (see page 13 of this topic).

What bothers me in this story, is that nobody mentioned that " Thomas Cook" never took contact with anyone of us before 21h05.
We were picked up at the hotel around 06h45, and on that moment the flight was already " DELAYED ".
It is true that we were never informed by Dubrovnik Airport, never seen a crisis manager, we were left on our own.
If we asked for information we received pieces and very vague information in a very unprofessional way. Thomas Cook has the numbers of everybody and our email addresses. So they had the possibility to inform us but.... they didn't.
At 17h10 I saw on my smartphone that the flight was cancelled in Brussels ??????
So I went again to the information desk for some information, but they had not received the update yet.
In the following time, still no news from Thomas Cook.
Finally, at 21h05, Olivier Everaerts of Thomas Cook was allowed to come into the terminal zone. After 13 hours and 35 minutes.
Then we received the news about the cancelled plane and that they were going to bring the rest of the passengers to a hotel for the night. He did the best he could.
The next day we were taken to the airport at 13h00 for a flight to Frankfurt with Condor airlines.
At the airport of Frankfurt, we had to inform ourselves where we had to check in. There was again nobody from Thomas Cook.
And we had not received any copy or document what to do next, just the flight number.
Luckily, the helpdesk of Condor could help us with that flight number, and they were very friendly. The next flight was with Lufthansa, again very helpful and friendly.
They were both professional. What a difference with Dubrovnik airport and Thomas Cook....

A332 Air Berlin is ferried from Dusseldorf to Brussels as Bel 7446. Back up plane for SN? All SN birds seems operational. Some information about this flight?
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
I can't find it on FR24. Do you have a registration?

Probably a mistake because Bel 7446 desappears from my filter on FR24 when i try to make a print screen!
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
Around the time you posted it, Air Berlin AB-7446 Dusseldorf-Punta Cana (A330-200) flew in the direction of BRU, and then continued via Antwerp and Knokke-Heist to the North Sea.
Maybe there was a gremlin on Flightradar, showing AB-7446 as BEL-7446 for a shortwhile.
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
@Bel33: The ICAO code of Air Berlin is BER. Maybe you mistook BER7446 for BEL7446 ?

Maybe! Probably I was dreaming about some planes coming from Air Berlin to expand SN fleet...
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
It seems that 737 first flew over BRU 25R at 225 ft for a visual inspection, before landing on BRU 25L:

A bomb search on board a Ryanair aircraft this morning at Brussels.
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
According to some press reports, the aircraft left with one passenger less: the man who shouted "Allahu Akbar" during boarding. However, other press reports state that this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Ryanair flight FR2947 to Madrid operated by Boeing 737-800 EI-FTJ was briefly evacuated after a dozen passengers made inappropriate jokes on Jihadists.
Never joke with security!
The aircraft eventually left with a delay of 2h 30min.

Nine Belgian men were offloaded and questionned by Belgian Police, but they were released after a few hours because the police estimated that no bad faith was at stake. It seems they had made some stupid, indirect remarks about something suspicious they had with them. The kind of jokes/remarks that 99,999% of all passengers know they shouldn't make once they enter the airport.sn26567 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2017, 11:53Ryanair flight FR2947 to Madrid operated by Boeing 737-800 EI-FTJ was briefly evacuated after a dozen passengers made inappropriate jokes on Jihadists.

Luckily for the nine men, stupidity is no breach of legislation.

While we agree its stupid, what would happen if they had 15 idiots per day ?
We can't accept such delays either

Agree. I don't defend that stupid passenger at all, but maybe airlines and airports can tell their staff that terrorists never publicly announce their plans? The press reports about this incident mention a group of 9 Belgian men (the press reported "native Walloons"), quite noisy and some of them above the alcohol limit to drive a car (though it was a.m. indeed). So when a 51 year old member of such a tourist group tells something childish like "I have something in my pants that eventually could explode", staff shouldn't pull the trigger that fast.

- first of all it's very unusual that you board a plane while being drunk.
- second of all: it's very unusual that you board a plane while being drunk ... at 7:00 am in the morning!
- third: safety and security is a prime aspect in aviation, you simply don't laugh with it.
- fourth: I could agree that you are in a good mood before your holiday but traveling in a group doesn't mean that you are allowed to say or do more than other passengers on the flight.
