En français dans La Libre Belgique: http://www.lalibre.be/article.phtml?id= ... _id=216578

In English on Luchtzak: https://www.aviation24.be/article8430.html :
According to La Libre Belgique dated 22 April 2005, investigating judge Van Espen inquires about a system of hidden salaries put in place by ex-Sabena for some members of its top management. This system started in the nineties and continued during the whole Swissair era.

It all started in the middle of 2004. A Belgian top manager of Sabena brought his Luxembourg assets back to Belgium in the framework of the amnesty declared by the Belgian government for such operations. But the amount was abnormally high, which led to an investigation and information about a system of secret commissions to top management, transfered to their Luxembourg accounts.

The Belgian airline considered such payments as incentives to motivate its managers and prevent them from going to competing airlines. When Swissair became owner of 49.5% of Sabena in 1995, these secret commissions effectively doubled the salaries of some top managers.

The Assyrians called it the Phoenix*. It does not live on fruit or flowers...

It'is said no person has ever seen this bird eat!
I wonder if Justice Van Espen will succeed to see what it was eating!

*Called Fung or Feng-Huang in the East.
