Spotting Amsterdam - ATC site

Post by Calisto »

Beste allemaal,

Calisto,

I cannot help you with the runways in use, because I never were in AMS.
But here's are some sites where you could find some additional infos:

http://www.schipholview.nl/
http://www.scramble.nl/civ/airports/eham.htm

Callisto,

Please use English in the general forums (for the benefit of our international audience), and Dutch only in the specific forum for French or Dutch speaking participants.

BBKing mentioned in another thread that one of the best places to spot in AMS is at the end of 27
BBKing wrote:To all:

If you have ever the possibility to go spotting at Schiphol you really have to take that opportunity. Five runways (of which two or three are active at every moment) and a lot of traffic, with visitors that never can be seen at EBBR.

Best place to go is at the end of runway 27: a great spotterscorner at a big parking, with a Mc Donalds, and less than 100 metres from the treshold of the runway !!!!!!

Moreover being a spotter is an accepted way of living in Holland. Nobody is surprised to see you walking around with a Kodak, a scanner (permitted in Holland !!), making some weird sounds when an exotic plane is turning on final ....
