The white shirt seems to be reserved for pilots.

A strong brand must have accents that can be seen both on the aircraft and among the cabin crew. I can't find that anywhere.
A missed opportunity.
Some good examples:

Branding is as well a part of the overall product, consumer experience etc. up to employee feeling on having a mix of uniform elements that are state of the art, ergonomic, allowing them to be a little bit personal within the rules etc.
Just the "vegan leather" shoes are a kind of overkill formulation. It's plastic fantastic and i don't wanna be near the crew when they would take them out of their feet.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Good examples?
Strong accents?
So you just need a yellow scarf or a white shirt to make a uniform best in class? LH Pilots’ uniform is evenly « sad » then…
The one of Swiss isn’t any better in my opinion….
As to OS’s one… sorry but it would even give a blind person a headache…
There, we’re not busy about an « accent » anymore…
This, yet very visible outfit, is terribly visually agressive.
At least AB’s one is quite ok.
Change always seems to come with a certain amount of reluctant and negative people, and much frustration… Give it a chance maybe? Wait to see it for real, then you might have a clear and wise opinion?!
Anyway… tastes and colors…
Taste related aspects put aside, I’m pretty sure you guys can understand that, any airline, any company working with uniforms, as hotels, theme parks, transportation companies (including SNCB/NMBS, STIB/MIVB, TEC and De Lijn), and many more…, have to renew uniform pieces of their personnel every once in a while (no, we normally don’t wear the same single shirt for 10 years in a row!!, mind you ).
Most of these companies work with an annual points allocation system based on work regime, which workers use every year to order some pieces needing replacement. This points allocation is budgeted every year and represents a recurrent cost, as it is a working tool for the workers. A quite regular operating expense actually…
In SN’s case, it has been since Covid period that the orders have been frozen… (except for new joiners, who even didn’t receive a full dotation as it was the case before Covid).
Working for SN myself, I can assure you I do have shoes which urgently need replacement, as well as shirts which are not even close to the white color anymore… the blue ones will look fresher, trust me!
I think SN have saved way enough money since then to be able to afford a full renewal for everyone by now.
So don’t worry for our budget and resources, and the way SN allocate tasks of the Uniforms’ department personnel.
Rest assured, the way the money has been spent lately as to that matter is quite under control, to say the least!
It’s not because something isn’t understandable at first sight that there is no rationale behind it, and every one taking part to the decision you’re questioning yourself about is the least qualified person you can think of, just because it’s SN…
So stop being concerned about our financials guys. Stay open, have a glass, relax and enjoy the weekend!

Not understandable? It’s crystal clear: SN wants to jump on the woke bandwagon, but companies doing so out of commercial interest is the exact reason why the term ‘woke’ has become so divisive that it is harming support for the issues it is meant to be highlighting.BRU1702 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2024, 20:30 It’s not because something isn’t understandable at first sight that there is no rationale behind it, and every one taking part to the decision you’re questioning yourself about is the least qualified person you can think of, just because it’s SN…

Happy to hear the finances are more than fine! So last week’s strike wasn’t about money, but just a willy-waving contest between management and pilots to annoy customers?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
This is a surprisingly low number. Is that about average? Lufthansa, Air France, and British Airways all have about ten percentage points more in their respective home airports (and these are the only three I have numbers for readily available). On the one hand, I get that BRU attracts a lot of traffic from all parts of the EU and its near neighbors because of the institutions, on the other hand, I would expect LHR to be similarly attractive to foreign carriers... because it is London, yet BA has a 46% market share. Does it indicate that Brussels' long-haul activities are comparatively underdeveloped?
Why are they not in a hotel? Might not have looked in the right places but I couldn't find out.Darjeeling wrote: ↑15 Jan 2024, 17:54You know the crew are overnighting in “tents” in a National Park lodge close to Ndjili.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
They stopped going to the Memling Hotel because it was a 3h driving to arrive there it's a big mess between the Airport and the City.longwings wrote:Why are they not in a hotel? Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
There are indeed some room to grow on long haul sector. This is why the long haul fleet will grow at a rate of 1 A330 per year, thanks to the A330 leaving Lufthansa fleet.
Because the city of Kinshasa where all hotels are is 3-4h away from the airport because of traffic jam. The 2 option to avoid that was to send the crew by jet to Brazaville like it was in the past during political unrest. Or to send the crew sleeping in tent in a national park. One option beeing much cheaper than the other... as a result there as been an explosion of malaria case withing the crew.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
SN was always around this %. Also don't forget that during Covid 9 planes, if I remember well, were taken out of the fleet.longwings wrote: ↑20 Jan 2024, 05:37This is a surprisingly low number. Long haul is still not on the pre Covid level.
But in March the 9th A330 will enter the fleet and nr 10 is also foreseen for this year
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Sorry, small correction, nr 10 will enter the fleet in March
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Number 10 will be D-AIKG ( from LH ) I guess. Which one will be the number 11 ? Thx
