Any idea if any new ones will be announced before the end of the year or will we have to wait for next year? Thanks!
It's just a matter of time. Can be still announced this year. The Chinese carriers are the last couple of days extremely active in announcing new routes, also to Europe.

Wow, from 2/w to 7/w?
I would have expected they would grow slowly, and increase the number of flights in different steps.

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
I don't see this on their website... I tried to book flights yesterday to Japan
Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
Air Arabia Maroc will start a new service from Tetouan to Brussels as from 1st April. There will be 2 flights a week on Monday and Friday with an A320.
Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
Nothing visible about that.
But on a side note. Japan was the fifth foreign investor in Flanders in 2023 with 17 new projects for a total of 6.4% of all investments. They stay very important.

I see for example the flight on 1 & 2 APR in our reservation system but the the reservation classes are closed for sales.

Seems like Albania’s Albawings will open a base in Pristina and fly 2x to Brussels.

Which Brussels...With ageing 734 will be very expensive in BRU!

A LCC with old planes and with high fees for BRU bcs its an aged plane. And they will start within 2 weeks.
It's obvious that this will fail.
BTW, nothing uploaded, nothing visible, nothing communicated, nada

BTW: I forgot to ask where you found this information?
Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
What are the surcharges for a B734 in day time in BRU?
Curious to know. 0?
Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
You are taking it very simple but in practice it's not.Lux_avi wrote: ↑17 Jan 2024, 19:33What are the surcharges for a B734 in day time in BRU?

Hereunder how each aircraft is calculated. So, as you make it simple for only a B734, it's not in practice
The landing and take-off charges are determined by the following factors:
I. - the unit tariff
II. - the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) [W]
III. - the environmental factor [E]
IV. - the day/night factor [D]
V. - the NOx unit tariff [Un]
VI. – the aircraft NOx emission [N
Day/night factor : depends on the actual landing or take-off time
Local time QC Movement [D]
06:00-06:59 QC ≤ 12 Dep & Arr 1
QC > 12 Dep & Arr 20
07:00-20:59 any QC Dep & Arr 1
21:00-22:59 QC ≤ 12 Dep & Arr 1
24 (1)≥ QC > 12 Dep 3
QC > 12 Arr 20
QC > 24(1) Dep 20
23:00-05:59 QC ≤ 8 Arr 3
QC ≤ 8(2) Dep 4
QC > 8(2) Dep & Arr 20
Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
In the forum of airliners.de. Admittedly not the most reliable source of information. It was a post of 13 Jan 24 by Emanuel Franceso:
ANA listet für den SFP24 (ab 31.3.24) aktuell (noch nicht buchbar):
Tokio Haneda - München 7/7 mit B789 (wäre +3/7)
Tokio Haneda - Wien 7/7 mit B789 (wäre Wiederaufnahme)
Tokio Haneda - Paris CDG 7/7 mit B789 (wäre +4/7)
Tokio Narita - Brüssel 7/7 mit B789 (wäre +5/7)

A very simple question yes, I didn't ask for the magic formula.
Since you're saying the B734 is going to be heavily taxed and their project is going to fail as a consequence, I suppose you have numbers €€€ (other numbers than the formula)?
Then, I really wonder why some airlines based in BRU still don't have that many "newer" aircraft yet...

Duh...the huge cost of buying modern aircraft to start with...
At the moment 1/3 of the companies flying to BRU are already modern ones.
With the new tariffs started since last year for the next 5 years the most old and noisier planes will have to pay 20 times more to fly to BRU. And yes, this B734 is there bcs it's in the category of very noisy planes.
This is one of the reasons why UA, AC, EY, ET all changed from their old B777, B767 or A330 into the most modern aircraft to BRU
Cargo will follow with B748, which is now already flying on BRU and later the A350F.
That's also the area where you can find the most noisier planes
