One of the in Belgium registered B787-8 will be taken out of the Belgian register and officially registered in The Netherlands.
The plane was already flying for some time in The Netherlands as the demand is high.
This is a clear sign that long haul demand in Belgium is weakening.

No this is TUI fly Belgium which is weakening. 1 Boeing 787 less, 767 gone, closure of CRL base (4 aircraft), closure of all Algerian flight, just keeping Alger and Oran, 5th 737max gone to TUI fly in Germany. Just 3 embraer instead of 4, etc etc

And why you think that Tui Belgium is weakening?? Bcs of the Belgian demand is weak, their customers. Tui itself is strong but not at all their local market. BTW, their prices are also not cheap. People are looking around and take a flight over the border who is cheaper.
Another example, KF was not able to maintain flights to Curacao while KLM and Corendon have not enough planes to fly there.
All has to do with your market. Belgians like more Mediterranean. But for really far away, not enough demand to fill a plane. That's why it's good to have Emirates who still can bring people around the globe. Pity, but it is.
Times like in the past to have SN, TUI and Thomas Cook Airlines are over. I think that at the end only one big player will be at BRU.

Actually no, the market is not weaker than before, but the offer and the demand changed.
For the offer, the time since TUI had a casi-monopol is gone. New player are growing in the market. Sunweb, Corendon etc.
For the demand, the time when people was going to a travel agency to book their travel is coming to an end. New generation of traveller now book everything ondine and their is a much diverse offer than what used to be before. New generation prefer to travel back pack style discovering countries instead of staying in all inclusive resort in Cancun or Punta Cana. They keep travelling far away but not the way TUI offer it.
The market is not weaker, the market just changed and Thomas Cook and TUI failed to adapt themself to it.

Corendon, Sunweb are operating out of AMS, exactly where the 2nd Belgian 787 is being sent. The decision to move 1x 787 to TUI NL has been made when AB started PUJ flights, that destroyed the LH market for TUI in Belgium (which has been slow to recover from covid, and was already difficult before...).
However, TUI BE & NL are kind of the same company now on different AOC's. When demand is higher, one TUI NL 787 could still operate out of BRU.

There was only 1 AC left in CRL, not 4.
A 5th 737 MAX will be joining the Belgian fleet in 2024.
However, they are indeed reducing the size of their own fleet in favor of more wet-leases like Smartlynx. Summer 2024 will see the highest amount of wet-leases ever. Fly4 will eventually replace those wet-leases (new AOC created by Enter Air and TUI has 49% of the shares in that new company).

TUI has done better numbers than in 2019 this year.
There is a difference between reducing its own fleet in favor of third party carriers and simply weakening.

If they need extra long haul capacity they can rent it from Air Belgium. Still one airplane is available and standing at BRU. Moving away from seat only flights towards more holiday packages. This is more profitable for them and that's also their core business.
Why would they try to compete against the low fares of Ryanair at CRL? Why are they expanding at ANR? Did you notice the higher fares at ANR (no competition and many passengers prefer the small airport)? Probably more profitable, no?
An airline needs to make money. If a route is not making money, why would they continue? Look at the route to Murcia: people complain it is now Summer seasonal only, but do they realise that the average fare during winter is normally very low? Even the excess seats to nearby Alicante are cheap during winter and on the Murcia flights there are no package holidays too.
If the (airline) company is loosing money everyone will loose their job in the end. So they need to adapt to the reality... increased competition fe to Tirana by FR, on flights to Morocco by Air Arabia, the arrival of Transavia at BRU... If it was me, I would move all 3 E295 to ANR during the summer season. The demand is there, the fares are higher, passenger satisfaction is higher and there is no competition.
