Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2023
Does anyone know why SN501 (OO-SFD) was diverted to Newark on tuesday 16?
Return flight SN502 was canceled and the plane returned from Newark to BRU as SN9902.
SN seems to have a lot of trouble with their JFK flights. And they seem to consider the JFK flight as dispensable.

A power outage at JFK’s terminal 1. Still closed.
Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2023
If an A330 flight has to be cancelled, JFK seems the best option, because there are a lot of alternatives to rebook the stranded passengers.

It sure is easier to accomodate the pax on alternate flights when SN's JFK flights are canceled. But it happens very often nowadays and it doesn't give the image of a serious operator.
In past years, SN sometimes operated the Dakar flights with A319. Couldn't that be an alternate solution in case of problem with A330 availability? Belly cargo capacity would be affected of course.
Even better would be the acquistion of a few A321s for some of the "short" long hauls.

SAS flight #SK1560 from Paris CDG to Copenhagen (Embraer E195 reg. SE-RSN) is squawking 7700 (emergency) and returning to Paris. The altitude of 10.000 feet indicates that the problem might be related to pressurisation of the aircraft. SE-RSN was delivered to SAS just one week ago.

SAS flight to Copenhagen had to turn around - the passengers had to spend the night in Paris
An SAS flight from Paris to Copenhagen that was going on to Bergen tonight had to turn around after it crossed the border from France into Belgium on Saturday evening.
"The plane returned to Paris after a drop in pressure in the cabin. We followed the normal procedure. There was no drama in this," SAS press officer Tina Szczyrbak tells NRK.
The plane with 22 passengers on board landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, located north of Paris, at 21:12.
The plane is an Embraer E195LR, has just over 100 seats, and was delivered to SAS just one week ago.
"We take good care of the passengers and they spend the night in Paris until morning," says Szczyrbak.
