TUI Belgium received all its 737s leased to Miami Air a couple of weekdays ago. Miami Air goed bankrupt so they get the planes return to Brussels. Very sad that Miami go bankrupt and more planes for TUI May not be goed because of coronavirus less demand.

All regs available = https://bit.ly/33VI2oY

No, TUI got the planes back in BRU after the production in the US ended due to Covid19.
Miami Air filed for bankruptcy protection, they haven’t gone bust yet AFAIK.

And last but not least, all the wet-leases were planned to come back around April anyway.
Yes sry my English not perfect - that what I meant, thank u very much 🙏

Due to COVID-19, I think that 737-7s will leave the fleet. Is there anything at TUI about ?

Currently another TUI 787 OO-JDL on her way to PBM as JAF831F for a repatriation flight.

By the way, I didn't see OO-LOE come back from Suriname. Is she still there? I heard rumours that she is AOG...

TUI AG gets a 1.8 billion euros bridging loan from the German government through state bank KfW, in addition to the existing line of credit of 1.75 billion euros.

Contrarily to what some of our readers think, the loan is for the whole TUI Group, thus also available for the Belgian subsidiary.

I am one of those contrarily people because I saw on the KfW website that their support must be limited to Germany:

https://www.kfw.de/inlandsfoerderung/Un ... ung-(855)/

Translated by Google, that means:

The funding product is not suitable for:
Debt restructuring or the re-financing of projects that have already been completed.
Companies that were in difficulties as of December 31, 2019.
Foreign projects by German companies or their subsidiaries based abroad.

So it seems that TUI AG was able to get a waiver for that clause. Well done!

Just an idea here, but could it be there's some confusion as to what TUI we're talking about?

Because to me it sounds like the operations of the package holiday company in Belgium can find shelter under the German umbrella -which is not so surprisingly at all-, but nowhere do they explicitly mention the airlines, which is a different legal entity which BTW has reportedly knocked on the door of the Belgian government for €250m in state aid.

Clarification would be appropriate

Both TUI Airlines Belgium and touroperator TUI Belgium (and a few other TUI companies) have published their annual account 01/10/2018 -> 30/09/2019.

For TUI Airlines Belgium, the grounding of its 737 MAX fleet is shown in the result: 2018-2019 has a € 74,5M loss on a € 823M turnover. Own assets are now negative € 31M, with a reported loss (overgedragen verlies) of € 37,7M.

TUI explains that the 737MAX debackle has lead to more expensive external leases, with a higher fuel cost and a higher cost for EU-Rule 261/2004 (cost for 261/2004 = € 5,5M).

Luckily for TUI Airlines Belgium, TUI Belgium shows a huge € + 320M own assets, with € 251M reported profit.
