Air Belgium in 2019

Post by andorra-airport »

Just tried to book return tickets to Hong-Kong: 2 adults , 2 children. End of April, 2 weeks, total price:

Air Belgium : 2800,-

from BRU:

Cathay Pacific: 2400,-

SAS with 1 short stop in CPH: 1800,-

I understand all depends on different dates (load factor etc.) but I hoped that they were a bit cheaper.
Why not basic 300 or 400 euro promotions ?!

Checked out their website this morning. Only HKG in the destinations list, what happened to the others? Will they open reservations a few days before or are they concentrating on ACMI flights?
The local leader SN is taking a pause in long-haul this year, could be the right time for KF to fly West.

I went to AB HQ, nearly 2 months ago. They said they were not totally ready to open Zhengzhou as they needed news from the airport. Also, AB said they want to have a day when they can announce this new destination, and not everytime delay it (as HK), to be sure of the day when they will launch flights. About other destinations, it should be step by step as China doesn't allow to Abu airline to open routes at the same time.

On 19 February, Air Belgium operated British Airways flight BA105 between London Heathrow and Dubai Airport with an Airbus A340 (OO-ABD). The airline, however, was forced to cancel return flight BA104 after a technical issue on the aircraft.

On 20th February, Air Belgium ferried its sister aircraft OO-ABB to London Heathrow to operate BA105 to Dubai, the same aircraft is scheduled for today’s return flight towards Heathrow (14:00 local time).

It seems that OO-ABD is still AOG at Dubai, after landing there as BA-105 on 20th Febr around 04h00 UTC.

Air Belgium will operate for LOT Polish Airlines. The initial schedule for two weeks, however, is wrong: a Facebook user told Aviation24.be that the airline already fixed a contract for two months, with a possible extension.
