It's a decline rather than a rise in passenger numbers.

Don't know, just citing the article from hln.be where according to the CEO they expect to end this year with more pax than in 2016, which was their best year so far. (sic)?sn26567 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2018, 14:18It's a decline rather than a rise in passenger numbers.

If we can believe their website it will be La Nova.luchtzak wrote: ↑09 Nov 2018, 13:38 Curious to find out which airline will start flying between Antwerp and London City.

Three daily flights to LCY from ANR, from +/- 430 Euro return
Business destination:
Four times a week to Hamburg from +/- 530 Euro return
Nice and Sion are the other destinations.
Powdair and Chalair comes in my mind...

ANR to HAM in 1h20, to NCE in 1h50... simply not possible with an ATR72. Saab 2000 maybe?
I hope it will be a real airline and not a new startup virtual carrier to operate the LCY.
(daydream mode ON) My wishlist:
BA Cityflyer to LCY with many possible onward connections.
Adria with their 'new' Saab 2000 to ZRH (on social media many people keep asking to restart ZRH)

An ATR72 with only 36 or 56 seats explains the high fares. Are there enough passengers willing to pay such prices?

Thy only have ATR72 (36-56 seats) and PC12 (6-9 seats) aircraft. But indeed they might acquire other ones...koninckske wrote: ↑09 Nov 2018, 21:48 ANR to HAM in 1h20, to NCE in 1h50... simply not possible with an ATR72. Saab 2000 maybe?

They have no planes at all. They will wetlease capacity since they are a virtual airline.sn26567 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2018, 21:53Thy only have ATR72 (36-56 seats) and PC12 (6-9 seats) aircraft. Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
By coincidence I received this week a promotional email of 'valaisprive' which is about to set up daily links between LCY and Sion with DO328Jet equipment. The flights between UK and CH are offered 'for members only' though...ANR to HAM in 1h20, to NCE in 1h50... simply not possible with an ATR72. Saab 2000 maybe?
See link.

Is there a business-relationship with La Nova maybe? Would they share each others equipment? Could the DO328J be seen in ANR soon? I guess the DO328Jet is faster that the ATR72 and that could explain the flight time...

Only in case Sun Air decides to tap into ANR market ...
At least their recently started domestic flights from FDH (Friedrichshafen/Germany) are operated by their Do328-300 (Jet) - and apparently are doing well ...
At the moment I can only think of 3 possible operators:
1) Adria Airways (SAAB2000)
2) BMI (EMB-135/145)
3) SunAir of Scandinavia (BA Franchise) Do328-300 - not sure if they still do operate Do328-200, though. ANR-LCY would be quite short for a Do328-300 (so, rather unlikely)
For clarification:
Do328-200 = Prop
Do328-300 = Jet
flyBE seems to be rather unlikely at the moment considering their serious financial troubles and the generally unclear perspective for UK airlines´s possible operations after Brexit.
BMI is likely to set up some sort of EU-based subsidiary anyway given their collaboration with LH-Group - so unlikely to be too much affected by Brexit.

Sun Air Of Scandinavia only operates Dornier Jets.
Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Maybe Chalair? I flew them numerous times to GVA
From ANR .. excellent flights But were almost always empty. I guess that they lost a lot of money operating out of ANR. Maybe LCY Will bring them back?

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Unlikely because their aircraft are too small (Beech1900D / max. 19 seats) for the ANR-LCY market.
Fees at LCY are to expensive for such small aircraft.
Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
They Also operoperate an ATR42
Maybe they lease another for the LCY flight?

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Or if economically feasible more runs on the route per day utilising their Beech1900D? More flexibility as more flights per day.. if landing fees and other costs permit..
Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
On the other hand better be a UK or Belgian registered airline in case the Brexit mess is not sorted out by March next year.
Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
For LCY landing fees are per aircraft, not per tonne, so it gets expensive with only 19 seats. Comparison for ANR->LCY return flight:
B1900:
- ANR: 70€ (8 tonnes) T/O+landing fee
- LCY: 1240£ (premium hours) / 1191£ (peak hours)
ATR72-500
- ANR: 170€ (23 tonnes) T/O+landing fee
- LCY: 1240£ (premium hours) / 1191£ (peak hours)
