Is Ryanair also going to change the maximum size for a "laptop bag"? At this moment, it's this (copy/pasted from their site):
small bag -> e.g. handbag, laptop bag etc. not exceeding 35cm x 20cm x 20cm
cabin bag -> not exceeding 55cm x 40cm x 20cm


How can one fit a laptop in a bag of 35cm x 20cm x 20cm?

Ryanair wants to negotiate labour issues in Italy exclusively with the country’s main pilots’ union, causing three Italian unions representing cabin crews, pilots and ground crews to plan a full-day strike on 10 February 2018.

Ryanair remains Ryanair and still has difficulties with unions...

In Belgium, Ryanair will have a meeting with the CNE trade union on 19 January. A first!

Wow. A strike, planned at four weeks as from now. Didn't the trade unions always said that a strike is urgent, unevitable and the last possible mean?

it will be if they don't come to an agreement in a month after almost a ... 10 year battle or so? As long as I can remember anyway ...

Ryanair expressed its interest in buying some NIKI assets, as the court battle continues over the Austrian carrier.

Ryanair confirmed that all 15 of its UK pilot bases – including London Stansted – have now voted in a secret ballot to accept pay increases of up to 20% and these increases will be paid next week in the January 2018 payroll.

Kris Peeters, Belgian Minister of Consumer Affairs, has withdrawn his suit against Ryanair over the cancellation of many flights at the end of last year.

Ryanair filed a complaint with European competition authorities over a Polish Airports alleged refusal to expand Warsaw Modlin airport which Ryanair uses as its Polish base.

In other news, Ryanair pilots in Spain have threatened to take ‘legal actions’ against the carrier over their employment rights if they do not meet with company representatives by next week.

Yes, this polish airport is since its opening always on a huge "-", the contract with Ryanair is so bad made (well, good for Ryanair) that they pay just a little bit than 1 euro per passenger to the airport and if any other airline would like to start operations dare, the tax is 10 euro for every other company. Moreover, Polish Airports are paying Ryanair to fly from Modlin (contract made few years ago and it is valid until 2020 I think), the region is maintaining the airport as well just to let it survive and the airport needs a repair of its bad runway this year...
Ryanair flies 3 million (!) passengers per year from this "fantastic airport".

Polish Airports just decided to make Radom (100 km from Warsaw) a second airport of Warsaw and let the low cost airlines and charters operate there, just to make its planned new Warsaw airport (as the current one soon will be not able to operate this quantity of passengers) an airport only for "normal" airlines (my fault, don't know how to call an airline which is not low cost). Modlin is not so far from Warsaw as Radom, but by car you will get faster to Radom than to Modlin (there is no "strict" train to Modlin). Radom is situated between big cities such as Lodz, Kielce, Lublin so it's better for tourists as well because Modlin is situated in the middle of nowhere.

Do you mean that, when Wizz Air was flying from Modlin WMI, they had to pay much more than Ryanair? No surprise that they moved to Chopin WAW, allegedly to respond to the wish of their customers...

European pilot group demands Ryanair meet unions collectively

Ryanair pilots’ unions demanded on Wednesday a joint meeting with management, saying individual talks on a new collective bargaining system were not satisfactory, according to a letter sent by the European Cockpit Association.

The letter dated Jan. 24, which was on European Cockpit Association notepaper and signed by 11 trade unions, also demanded that Ryanair commit by March 1 to introduce permanent direct employment contracts in accordance with the local laws of the country where staff are based.

Ryanair, in a statement, refused the idea of meeting unions collectively.

Ryanair pilots in Spain are preparing legal action over the carrier’s insistence on keeping them under an Irish employment status.

Ryanair passengers face possible strikes this Easter as the airline continues to battle unions across Europe amid demands for improved pay and conditions for pilots.

In better news, Ryanair expects to receive its UK AOC by September 2018.

Ryanair pan-European pilot group EERC called for the resignation of CEO Michael O’Leary, in the latest sign of strains in staff relations at the airline.

Ryanair tries to negotiate separate deals with pilots by country rather than on a European basis. It has already said it does not recognise EERC. "Divide ut imperes!"
