skeyes (ex-Belgocontrol) ATCO vacancies
Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
No news on my side as well. Got a phone call last Monday to schedule my medical check. During that call I was also told that a meeting would take place on Wednesday to decide which candidates would start training in May. But since that phone call, I haven't heard from them yet. Let's just wait and see I guess.
Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
Any estimate on when the new campaign will start?

Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
Be careful before applying and ask controllers about their working conditions: surprising!
Eurocontrol is much much better and salaries are double

Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
As far as I know, salaries at Belgocontrol are very comfortable and working conditions are not "exhausting" (although I recognise that there is a certain stress).
Can salaries at Eurocontrol really be double of the big Belgocontrol salaries with even better working conditions?

Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
The general public thinks that working conditions in Belgocontrol are majestic : billiards at work, VIP restaurant, relaxation room, etc... as stated in this stupid article http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf2017092 ... gn=seeding. This suggets that working at Belgocontrol is like to be at the ClubMed...
But the reality is quite different ... : It is very usual to work 10 up to 13 days in a row, without any day off due to staff shortage. Shift system = 0, you can do an evening shift followed by a morning shift the next day which results in ATCOs sleeping at CANAC because the time between the two shifts is too short.
Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
Working conditions are:
- 25 days a month minimum (often more)
- up to 12 consecutive days
They pay controllers 250% for the extra hours (above 35 hours per week) so that they accept working more...
Afternoon shift followed by morning shift: very common
Controllers sleeping in Canac to avoid going back home between two shifts: true
Salaries range between 3500€ after taxes (tower controllers) up to 5500-6000€ (area and approach controllers) after taxes, with 2 weekends per month minimum
Eurocontrol's salaries are indeed double

Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
On top of that, system failures are not unusual, making you 10 years older in a couple of minutes...
But, it's a great job (don't come for the money...)

A death threat towards a manager? You would be fired for less than that, but he (she?) is only suspended! Nice atmosphere indeedmvg wrote: ↑30 Sep 2017, 15:38 https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2017/09/28 ... en-gerech/

Some people were talking about Eurocontrol, is this the same as the MUAC?

First of all: welcome to this forum!
What Eurocontrol is and does can be found documented in many places.
And if looking for clarification, using codes and abbreviations is perhaps not the most effective way...
Yes, Eurocontrol are running the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, if that is what you mean, but they do other things besides.

It was because I couldn't find the right information I asked it here. Luckely it's clear now. Unfortunally for me, the age limit for applying at MUAC is one year shorter then Belgocontrol.
Congrats!737pilot wrote: ↑19 Oct 2017, 11:56Training starts on the 6th of November in MalmöPhee wrote: ↑19 Oct 2017, 09:29How is the process progressing?737pilot wrote: ↑07 Apr 2017, 16:04 No news on my side as well. Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancies
This thread start to be old. So today there must be people coming out of formation ?
Heard new voices on delivery ? And possibly voice that i recognize but in other sector than usual ?
Are people going up the scale ?
What is the normal pattern after you graduate ? In what position do you go ?
Delivery -> Ground -> Tower -> Departure -> En route -> Approach ?
A cannot imagine a young cadet doing the approach in the 09.00 peak.
What are the needs for ATCO outside of BRU ? Are you alllowed to move ?
