Now this seems to me a very interesting development .. OPening up flights from central/eastern Europe is the way to go IMO ... LOT can take example from Norwegian, developing the Eastern Europe market, just like Wizz succeeded in developing the low cost sector there , successfully competing with FR and EZY.

Re: LOT to launch first nonstop flights from Hungary to the US
Not to forget that LOT already took over the Estonian operations of Nordica...
It's true that in Budapest, nobody had the guts to take over the TATL operations of Malev. An American company should have jumped in immediately after the bankruptcy of Malev.
I still wonder why SN has abandoned the codeshare with LOT.

True.
They use the Nordica planes for their own flights from Warsaw.
Which, basically on a daily basis means cancelled and delayed flights from Tallinn because Warsaw flights get priority. This does not look impressive, but there just are a handful of flights from TLL. So in comparison, this happens a LOT

Not yet the end! LOT Polish Airlines may launch services from Zagreb and Ljubljana to the US, as the carrier focuses on the Baltics and the Balkans region.
