Thank you md11, that's indeed how simple the process at FR is. You fill in a form on the airlines website and you will get what you are entitled to. Only when there is doubt about the reason or credibility will the airline refuse, like every other airline

Do you want a few samples ?
i have a lot and NEVER had a compensation
But..... for fight booked at 29 EUR .... other better things to do

Hi,

Okay here mine :

FR : filled in form on website, get mail back to post them all info to an adress in dublin, then got a mail back with lots of blabla, no payment altough I was in right, flight cost : 15 euro return,...
Info and foodcoupons received !
Only court should have give me a payment after years I guess....

EU should punish them in these situations with immediate effect,... IMHO...
Let an independent airspecialist decide and let them pay direct so they should go to court for getting their money back :lol: :evil: :evil:

SN : info given, foodcoupons and payment without asking, immediately given with an extra smile ! Best handling of this situation ever !
BA : info given, foodcoupons received and after 3 emails and last one with referring to my lawyer, immediately payment...
Etihad Regional / Darwin : NO info Given ! Foodcoupons given and also 3 emails with reffering to lawyer immediate payment ( within 24 hours ! )

A real direct FR solution is more a rarity instead af a daily case ...
But as long as their fares are bottom low people will take it, altough they shouldn't !

Ryanair has loaded 2 New destinations from BRU, Palermo and Catania in there bookingsystem. Altough it is not possible to book any flights.

Hi,

Wanna fly cheap to Catania without 2-3 hours wondering around FCO ?

Just fly FR from EIN !! 0,5 driving more I guess but direct flights ! ( 3 times weekly )
SN is a lot more expensive and only 2x a week I guess, also combined with Comiso.. or Catania South :lol: !

Alitalia had the best cards here but more expensive and as even the pope won't pray for them anymore :mrgreen:

FR from EIN I always ( yearly ) do :p LOL

What some here claimed that it would never happen, has happened.
Ryanair is starting to sell long haul flights to Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and the United States through it's website. Air Europa is the first airline to partner with Ryanair and in the second phase later this year passengers will be able to connect from a Ryanair flight on a air europa long haul flight. Again, this move by Ryanair will re-shape the current aviation landscape in Europe drastically I predict and some CEO's of competitors are starting to show brake tracks in their pants

Strange and unexpected. Discussions were ongoing with Norwegian and Aer Lingus, and at the end of the day, it's Air Europa which comes out first, when nobody even knew that Ryanair was discussing with them.

I'd be curious to see the details of the contract, and who will pay the EU261 compensations in case of a delay.

I'm also curious to hear what Michael O'Leary will have to say in Brussels this late afternoon ;)

Bye bye Air Europa in BRU? Or will they only allow FR to feed from other destinations?
It's a proof all airlines evolve to the same model: hybrid: just as in the USA...
Just as André, I'm very curious what will happen in case of a delay...
- Who pays the compensation?
- What will happen with you in high season on an airliner that is so proud of its 95% load factor? Pay him a hotel for 3 days? Book them on IB?
- What will the the impact of all this on FR's cost structure?

During the press conference in Brussels this afternoon about the Ryanair partnership with the Erasmus Student Network (https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/ryanair ... t-network/), Michael O'Leary answered a few questions about other topics:
  • Air Europa: Many people were surprised about the announcement. They thought Ryanair would first sign with Norwegian. The deal with Norwegian is ready, bur Norwegian uses the expensive Amadeus booking system, whereas Ryanair uses a much cheaper one which is incompatible. This technical problem must first be resolved
  • Connections in Rome: The minimum connecting time (MCT) is two and a half hours in order not to leave anyone behind (he didn't say in order to avoid EU261 compensations). When the system will be thoroughly tested, the MCT could be reduced to one and a half hours.
  • Brexit: MOL expects a hard Brexit, with consequences on aviation, i.e. no bilateral agreements. If no deal is signed, Ryanair will move its 40 British-based aircraft to Europe (and also the crews, which is more difficult)
  • Alitalia: if the airline ceases activities, Ryanair could immediately move 20 aircraft from all over Europe to Italy to replace 50% of the Alitalia short-haul flights, and in the longer run, 30 aircraft. But MOL expects Alitalia to survive, at least for long-haul
  • Brussels noise regulation: no departures before 07:00, which means maximum 4 aircraft based in BRU because of the lack of slots between 07:00 and 08:00 and any expansion would be in CRL

Ryanair reports profits of almost €1.32bn and announces €600m share buyback

Ryanair reported profits of almost €1.32 billion for 2017 and announced plans to return €600 million to shareholders on Tuesday.
The Irish airline said that revenues in the 12 months ended March 31st - its financial year - rose 2 per cent to €6.65 billion.
It grew profits after tax by 6 per cent to €1.316 billion from €1.242 billion over the same period.
Ryanair confirmed that its board has approved plans to buy back €600 million shares from investors beginning this week.
This will bring the total returned to shareholders through repurchasing shares and other means to €5.4 billion since 2008.
Chief executive, Michael O’Leary, said that the company was in talks with Boeing to add “selectively” to the order it has with the US aircraft manufacturer.
It has been taking delivery of 175 Boeing 737-800 craft since 2015 and from 2019 is due to begin receiving the first of up to 200 of the plane’s next generation, the 737 Max 200.
“As competitor airlines undergo deep restructuring, we are aware of the need to have additional short-haul aircraft to respond quickly as these unique growth opportunities arise,” Mr O’Leary said.
Ryanair flew 120 million passengers in the course of its financial year, 13 per cent more than the 106 million people who travelled with it in the 12 months ended March 31st 2016.
It sold 94 per cent of the available seats on its aircraft and charged its customers an average fare of €41, which was 13 per cent less than in the previous financial year.
The carrier expects to increase passengers by 8 per cent to 130 million in the current financial year, which ends on March 31st 2018.
Mr O’Leary said that the airline grew profits in the face of difficult conditions caused by terror attacks in Europe and a sharp fall in sterling following the UK Brexit vote.

Truly amazing figures, they look like something of a bank would have 😊 no one can deny that.

But don't forget what quickly comes to my mind after a post like this, if someone is interested in other huge figures ;
Fuel capacity A380 320000 litres, Cessna Mustang 1500 litres 😁 My car 55 litres, my milk pack just 1 ☺️

I am utterly shocked that Ryanair are rolling out this new policy of "pay for seat allocation or else we will make sure that you sit far away from each other". It is totally contradictory to their recent "always getting better" efforts.

For the last 2 days, reviewers on their Facebook page are up in arms about it. I can understand why.
I am also a "victim" for my flight this coming Friday :evil:

Ryanair to extend leases on 10 aircraft through to 2019 as it sees “massive” growth opportunities in Europe due to woes at Air Berlin (Germany) and Alitalia (Italy). Talks are also in progress with Boeing about adding one or two aircraft deliveries in 2018 and 2019. Part of growth plans may include feeder into Alitalia, pending Italian government approval.

A Ryanair passenger who was checked in but didn’t print his boarding pass was denied boarding at gate A32 at Brussels Airport and was forced to pay 50€ to Ryanair (via the Aviapartner gate agent). The passenger started ranting, shouting and … filming

Note: nothing to do with Ryanair the airline!

Couldn't he have had an electronic boarding pass, which might be enough to go through security, but not sufficient per RYR policy?
I haven't flown RYR in more than 10 years, so I wouldn't know the answer to my own question, but it seems like a possibility?
