Norwegian D8-2849 Stockholm-Gatwick diverted to AMS Amsterdam this morning - landing there around 09h local.
Probably medical, as the aircraft (737-800 EI-FHH) has already started the first part of its journey from AMS to LGW: taxiing from their gate to runway 36L. A nice ride of some 20-25 minutes.

Delta DL-469 (N709DN B777-200ER) TLV-JFK Tel Aviv-New York diverted to AMS Amsterdam this early morning. The flight continued to JFK after 1,5 hours on the ground at Amsterdam, so most probably a medical.

Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2017
A Kalitta 744 flew extremely low over my back yard (north side of Aalst) some 15 minutes ago.
The are days (wind direction, spreading plans... ?) that this location is a busy turning point for planes approaching BRU (like it ).
But this one was way lower (too low IMO) than the others, about max. 2000ft. And due to the size of the plane it draw my attention.
Ran quickly inside, checked FR24 in found out that it was N782CK that departed from Leipzig.
Was this a diversion? It does not seem to be logic that this huge cargoplane would be used for such a short route...

Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2017
I'll have to look a bit deeper, but it wasn't a diversion in any case. It was a scheduled cargo flight, CKS9250. (Although the flight number might suggest it's not a 'routine' flight).
When looking at the (limited) playback of the flight on FR24, I can't say that it's lower at any point than it should have been. It might have had a level-off at 2000ft however, requiring some extra thrust (hence, extra sound) to keep the aircraft aloft.
Keep in mind, if you're used to seeing A320s and 737s overhead, a 747 at the same altitude will appear to be quite a bit lower, even though it's not.
Also, DHL have a very big presence in both LEJ and BRU, so tons and tons of cargo are shifted between both airports each day (mostly LEJ -> BRU). This often amounts to more than one cargo aircraft per day flying the route.
Aerologic used to do it as well, BOX116 LEJ-BRU, BOX117 BRU-LEJ, with a turn around of little more than an hour, if I remember it correctly.
The same thing quite often happens in LGG, where wide body cargo aircraft are used for rather short flights a well (STN,AMS,...)
The size of an aircraft has little to do with whether or not it's suitable for a route. If they can fill a 747 on a short route, why send multiple smaller aircraft? Even if it's empty, but needed at BRU for some reason, it makes sense to send it there, instead of flying an aircraft empty from somewhere else, further afield.
The aircraft will probably depart for CVG today or tomorrow, as most CKS aircraft do from BRU.

OK. Another KLM diversion then: flight KL1533 (Fokker F70) to Durham has returned to Amsterdam Schiphol due to technical issue with the APU.
