Not a fleet renewal, but a new flight control computer https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/brussel ... fu-oo-sfn/
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
And still no news about the renewal of the fleet...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The decision has been taken.
Since the question as to where those new planes will go will come literally 1 second later, allow the company some time to coordinate and firm everything up both internally as well as externally.
Don't worry, you won't be disappointed.
A company which was on track for over 100 million euro net profit without the attacks and still managed to post 20 million euro profit despite them, has shown to be fit for investment and expansion to its shareholder.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
So, this is virtually the end of Brussels Airlines than... If they won't add additional planes to the fleet the growth will stop and no additional destinations will be possible due to the lack of planes. Seems like really terrible news. Was this the way of saying "Brussels Airlines is over and done", we'll jump into the Eurowings boat instead?
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Tolipanebas says we won't be disappointed abt fleet renewal?
sn26567 says there won't be any expansion.
What is correct?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
True, but Tolipanebas also said something about "it shows fit for expansion"...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
If you replace the few -200's with new(er) -300's or -900's and even redesign the interior you can have an expansion with the same amount of planes. The same applies to the A32S, you can (eventually) replace the 319 by a 320 or 321 and the 320 with a 321 so technically you can get expansion without getting more planes. Just like replacing the Avro's with the A32S.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Though I must admit, the statement about "no fleet expansion after 2017" is very worrying and shows a bleek future for SN as SN. If true, it's almost like saying it's over and out for SN (as SN, maybe not as future EW).
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Less investment in fleet expansion and more in digital, service and efficiency. But correction: there is still the aim to increase the long haul fleet by one aircraft per year. Replacement of 7 older aircraft : type not yet decided , discussion ongoing.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SFN and SFU made test flights for Airbus yesterday (I don't have any other information).
On one of the slides this morning the fleet numbers for end 2017 were as follows: 10 A330, 22 A319, 12 A320, 7 wetleases. If the 12 A320 figure is correct, it means there will be a further 2 A320 joining this year (on top of SNI).
