I'm really curious about the onboard J product with SN. I'm flying to BOM a lot in my life, mostly LX/LH, some with the ME3. Booked a trip in april and one in june so I can thoroughly sample it.
Up till now I always enjoyed SN - in my opinion possibly the friendliest staff in the whole LH group. Let's see!

Do the schedules to/from BOM allow for an easy connection with the flights from/to YYZ?Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 11:15 OO-SFU lining up RWY25R as BEL601 for the first service to BOM.
After all, the whole idea when launching BOM and YYZ was to replace the Jet Airways flights to those two destinations by making a seamless connection in BRU.
Did somebody check?

4 times a week (on 5 frequencies), BOM and YYZ will benefit SN transfert in BRU in both legs.travellover wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 16:30sn26567 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 15:55Do the schedules to/from BOM allow for an easy connection with the flights from/to YYZ?Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 11:15 OO-SFU lining up RWY25R as BEL601 for the first service to BOM.

travellover wrote: ↑11 Sep 2016, 15:05 Checking SN timetable for next summer. I wanted to know how far SN will be flying in "9W transfert configuration" in own metal between India (BOM) and North America (JFK, IAD and YYZ), focussing on BOM and YYZ.
For instance between 1/4 and 15/4/2017.
4 times a week (on 5 frequencies), BOM and YYZ will benefit SN transfert in BRU in both legs.
SN 602 (BOM-BRU) is sheduled on days 1,2,4,5,6.
SN 551 (BRU-YYZ) is sheduled on days 2,4,5,6,7.
SN 552 (YYZ-BRU) is scheduled on days 2,4,5,6,7 *+1.
SN 601 (BRU-BOM) is sheduled on days 1,3,4,5,7.
Indeed interesting lauching prices on BOM (398.02 € return for 1 adult in Y).
YYZ leg is for instance 776.70 € return for 1 adult in Y).
SN 602 (BOM-BRU) is sheduled on days 1,2,4,5,6.
SN 551 (BRU-YYZ) is sheduled on days 2,4,5,6,7.
SN 552 (YYZ-BRU) is scheduled on days 2,4,5,6,7 *+1.
SN 601 (BRU-BOM) is sheduled on days 1,3,4,5,7.
4 connections a week is a good start. Probably SN should raise the number of flights/connections in a near future if they get satisfaction in load factors, yields, successful connections.
What is your guess ?
Cheers

SN601 about to land in Mumbai.
Really happy to arrive in BOM (better than a barrel rol ) or too early and the fire brigade was not ready for the water cannon salute?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017
By the way, the crew for the first return flight arrived in Bombay with Lufthansa. Of course: there was no SN flight yet to bring them there

I would prefer a barrel rol though but I'm not so sure the passengers would agree with meHomo Aeroportus wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 19:13 Really happy to arrive in BOM (better than a barrel rol ) or too early and the fire brigade was not ready for the water cannon salute?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017
Indeed, 4 connections a week is a good start. But remember that Jet Airways provided daily connections, and with 5 flights a week to both destinations, it would have been possible to make 5 connections a week!travellover wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 16:374 times a week (on 5 frequencies), BOM and YYZ will benefit SN transfert in BRU in both legs.travellover wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 16:30sn26567 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2017, 15:55

Looking a little bit further into it, the transfer time at BRU is 3 hr 25 min eastwards and 3 hr 30 min westwards. That is long, compared to the 2 hours of Jet Airways in the past (and still now at AMS).
Thus I think that there is still room for improvement.
By the way, I have seen that 4 weekly flights to YYZ and 2 from YYZ are codeshared with TG. That is an advantage that Jet Airways did not have! Although I'm not sure whether there are many pax between Bangkok and Toronto flying via Brussels.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017
Room for improvement yes, for sure, but I wouldn't compare too much with the previous Jet Airways situation. For 9W it was a key point (and still is in AMS) to serve YYZ and EWR as 'direct flights' from India, in case of SN the YYZ connections are only part of the whole BOM story. Contrary to 9W, SN focusses much more on a wide range of EU and Africa connections and the timings of SN's intercontinental flights indeed result in a transfer time in BRU which is longer than it used to be with 9W, but it also enables much more EU flights to connect to YYZ, BOM, etc.sn26567 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2017, 16:38 Indeed, 4 connections a week is a good start. Thai also codeshares on some flights via BRU to IAD and JFK. Not the huge volume, but it fits in Thai's offering of flights to/from North America via partner hubs in Europe and BRU is definitely one of them. Btw, on YYZ there is also an Etihad codeshare (EY is just like EK limited in traffic rights in Canada, so they use other partners to add-on their own direct service and SN is quite a significant partner in number of SN flights that have an EY code, mainly intra-EU but also YYZ).
Re: Brussels Airlines starts Mumbai flights in March 2017
There is also room for improvement regarding the arrival in BOM (very late 23:00 and you need to wait 7H or more to get a domestic connection to Bangalore for example)...
Of course, flying East does not help...

Re: Brussels Airlines starts Mumbai flights in March 2017
But anyway or you lose the connection in Brussels or in Mumbai you can not have the two.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
Re: Brussels Airlines starts Mumbai flights in March 2017
Most of the flights from Europe arrive around that time, as did JetAirways btw.
And so do the LH flights from Frankfurt and Munich, AF from Paris, Swiss from Zurich, etc...
