Replacement aircraft for that TUI/Jetairfly to Alicante on 21st Jan was OO-JAX - Boeing 737-800.

OO-JAX was repositioned from CRL to BRU that afternoon:

Good to know that the passengers eventually arrived safely at destination. In such incidents, one should never forget the customers, without whom the airlines wouldn't exist. Too often, specialised media focus on the aircraft or the airline. Thanks for letting us know the happy end.

23th Jan 2017: Cityjet WX-230 Antwerp-London City ANR-LCY (ATR-42 LY-DAT) had to divert to Southend-on-Sea because of dense fog at London.

Try to count the number of holding circles!

Someone should really tell them to put everything in the right proportion and no to create useless sensation or even panic to people with no or limited flying knowledge/experience.
Also article on gva.be, less sensational title and just telling the facts. So, it is possible.

The article of Het Nieuwsblad is even worse

20 :P In about 1.5hours. They landed after nearly 2.5hours, for a flight that normally takes around 1h. Did they plan the delay in advance or is it normal to take maybe 2-3x the amount of fuel needed?

Does someone know why SN241 was diverted to ROB yesterday (Sunday) and came back from Freetown this afternoon (Monday) as SN1241?

As a result, SN501 was cancelled.

JFK is SN's easiest long-haul destination to cancel: there are many alternatives on which passengers can be re-booked. African destinations are another story...

Yes of course ! But all of that don't give me the "idea" to reserve a SN Long Haul flight ! It's too often a lottery ! I go two times a month on North Atlantic ( YUL YYZ JFK IAD BOS YVR ) : no way with SN !
On SN short haul : no problem...I fly :)

This is not because sometimes there is no flight heading to JFK that it has been cancelled, during the winter check of the A330, there are sometimes JFK flight which are not operated, but this is planned so no cancellation.

Yes I know...daily flights during summer. Mostly six ( not wednesday ) and sometimes 5 to JFK during december and january...I know that. I'm speaking about the cancellations ( SN, weather, Swissport, fleet problem) . I confirm 3 cancelations only in january ! Sorry for that...but it's 3 and not because schedules ! A lottery...on the Long haul...and I'm disapointed because I like flying SN ! But this is the reality ! And I only speak about North Atlantic !

Some years ago it was like that also on LAD and FIH but now it's better.
But like I said before on Dakar we had one cancellation in the Holidays and two times big a delay,so yes the long haul on SN is problematic but that is something I already saying for years.

For me it's still the better solution on Africa you don't have so much choices but for 10 years I took AF and I had no cancellation at all 10 years.....
Hasta la victoria siempre.

ANR: outgoing TB2223 (TUI/Jetairfly OO-JEM) Antwerp-Nador is delayed.

Apparently "bomb alert" at a luggage scanner. Full alert at the airport...

No evacuation here (500m further) but according to Twitter police-checkpoints at every intersection in a 5km perimeter.
