The technical problems with TUI fly Boeing 767 OO-JNL (December 2016)

Post by Passenger »

Today's TUI TB-701/TB-702 to/from Santo Domingo and Montego Bay:

it seems that OO-JNL (TUI Jetairfly 767-300ER) taxied to 25R, but returned to the gate.

Brusselsairport.be says that the incoming TB702 from Santo Domingo (arr Monday 07h55) is cancelled.

TUI says that the aircraft is ready, but that the crew will have to take a rest at Santo Domingo before continuing to Montego Bay.

Dominican and Jamaican passengers apparently had a (verbal?) fight with the Belgian police when they had to deboard again this morning.

And good luck to the passengers with regards to claiming compensation according to EU261. My neighnours had a similar incident in January this year returning from Cancun, delay of about 24h. Until now they didn't see a eurocent...
I have the idea that this happens way to often with TUI lately...

Can someone arrange a red carpet at Brussels Airport (non-Schengen arrivals) on Wednesday morning around 06h00 a.m.? That's the expected arrival time of TUI's TB-702 Santo Domingo-Montego Bay-Brussels - flight that was supposed to land on Monday at 07h55 a.m.

Tomorrow's flight to Santo Domingo and Montego Bay will be operated by Wamos Air Boeing 747-400 as OO-JNL is still grounded: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/tuifly- ... g-747-400/

At this very moment, CS-TRN (the EuroAtlantic 767) started its descend to Montego Bay (Jamaica), coming from Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). Flight number still TB-701.
