And another plane to take care of the passengers and bring them to their final destination: QR3451 (Boeing 777-300ER, reg. A7-BAH) is en route to Lajes Field, Azores to collect passengers from QR708, after it diverted earlier due to turbulence. Was A7-BAN so heavily damaged by the turbulence?

probably not, however the aircraft needs an engineering check (just like after a heavy landing)

Damaged: yes. Heavily damaged: don't know.

Passengers reported the aircraft dropped suddenly causing passengers with seatbelts not fastened to be thrown out of their seats, for example a three year old boy was thrown across the aisle onto the lap of another passenger, other passengers hit the ceiling resulting in a number of injuries.

Damaged: possibly, probably NOT

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration A7-BAH has been dispatched to Lajes and is estimated to continue the flight in the morning of Dec 5th, while the occurrence aircraft is being checked for possible structural damage.
