So OO-TCC will stay grounded for more than a month? I suppose they don't send in a new part because of the cost?

New part would take 10 months I heared at work.

This Beluga trip was also quite pricy, would be around 177000€, all the personnel which was watching instead of working excluded :D The hangar was practically empty :D

I see from the pictures on coppermine that the stabiliser was sent to Madrid.
So it's going to be repaired by EADS in Spain :?:

Form the pictures it seemed that only the main massive part of the stabilisr was sent. All the "rest" was stripped off of it. That's why it took long from unmounting to sending. Or am I wrong :?:

ciao,
TriStar

You're quite correct. First we had to put the plane on stuts to prevent the aircraft would move when taking off all the weight (not that much but just to be sure). Then the APU and tail cone were removed and then we stripped the stabilizer.. Then we removed the stabilizer.

But all that work was done within 2 days. The main reason why it took so long for the stabilizer to be picked up was the decision of the insurance company whether to pay for reparation or order a new one. But new one would take too long. In the mean time the aircraft was standing in H40 just doing nothing. Now we needed the space to put an Air One (EI-CXI) and a Luxair inside (LX-LGN which has been replaced by LX-LGG in the mean time).

Still don't know when he will be back.

Do you realise that you made a mistake with the title of the topic? It says 18/04 instead of 18/03 :!:
