VRT news reports smoke coming from the subway stations at both Maalbeek and now also Schuman.

Indeed. When Schuman is closed, people get down at Maalbeek.

VRT tv says the bomb attacks at BRU have been changed into suicide bomb attack. At least 13 fatalities, 30 injured.

Brussels Metro: now reports of several bomb blasts indeed.

multiple tweets.
Problem offcourse is that if 1 dumbo tweets something like that, it gets picked up and rolls like a tsunami into twitter country.

so unconfirmed explosions at Arts-Loi and Schumann.

(If it's a hoax, I'll delete it later Stij)

Just got an SMS from member Cathay Belgium. He is in a Ryanair 737 (flight FR163) on the ground. The plane did not depart and passengers remain on board until further notice. From his window he can see people running all over the place and being bussed out of the airport.

Passenger Mark De Wit, who was in the departure hall, reports on VTM News:

no shots were fired

first explosion was rather small, with people wondering if it was a bomb indeed

some 15-30 seconds later, the second explosion happened

not at a check-in counter, but at the open space between the doors and the check-in desks.

The passengers will be bussed to a hangar. They have to leave their hand baggage on the plane for inspection.
