the last photos that I posted were taken with a skywatcher 8'' but i also have a 10'' and it's better coz its wider and lets more sunlight in! Well, its more expensive as well ..but it also depends on how expert the user is, the weather conditions, etc..I think the best advice you will get from contrailwatcherUK Who is one of the most experts and who makes perfect pics...
cheers

Hi dion,
I would highly reccomend the skywatcher 10" dobsonian. Make sure it's this one, not the flextube one because you need to block out the sun shining on the mirrors. Probably the most popular choice among contrailspotters. It's not to heavy and can fit in most small hatchbacks if you plan to travel with it. Mirrors and build quality also good. You also get a whopping 56% more light gathering power than the 200mm (8") version, although the price is almost increased by that much - maybe something to consider depending how far you can stretch your budget. My first scope was a Celestron EQ130. Then I moved up to a Celestron 6", then Skywatcher 10", and now currently using a 12".

Re: Which telescope?
Hi there
Try ebay couple skywatcher 10 inch/250 dobsonians on auction at moment £205 & £245 (i bought my 8" from ebay for £100 cheaper than new)
This 10 inch/250 ends in an hour £250 at moment with 1 bid pick up from Stockton on teeshttp://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/172021055601
If buying new the Revelation range of dobsonian is slightly cheaper by about £15 for 10 inch but if you go for the 12 inch there is a £163 difference between the skywatcher and Revelation versions at Telescope house but like i say try ebay first
