FR has never employed ground staff in France. Aircrew however need some time to prepare a flight. You can't just jump on a airplane and go.

Ridiculous. It was not about the crew room at the airport. The prosecutor in that court case has proven that Ryanair had ground staff, working in a downtown office but working with Irish contracts. The prosecutor even had the details from the Ryanair parking places in that downtown office building. Repeat: not the airport office, the downtown office. I abstain from technical discussions because I'm no pilot. I started with a very neutral remark whilst OO-JDL was still in flight: I wondered if the routing was caused by hurrican Patricia bound for Mexico. I also reported that OO-JDL's flight path was totally diffferent from a KLM 777 to Mexico, who flew straight over the Ocean, and not via Goose Bay, Québec and New York to Mexico (like OO-JDL did). I had hoped someone would explain why the KLM 777 flew straight and the Jetairfly 787 entered Canada some 100 kms north of Goose Bay. No big deal for me; what really matters, is that 4 Jetairfly-flights are delayed by 4,5 to 5 hours this weekend. Really now? I would love to see those "proven adresses" cause FR doesnt have any ground officers ANYWHERE in europe besides DUB. Ryanair got caught red handed in France because the social inspection there went further than just a single routine check at the airport: an undercover enquiry reveiled what is known by everybody at ryanair very well: cabin crew/pilots must always wear a uniform when they come to the airport to perform duties, but that doesn't make all of their duties flight duties as is needed to be excempted from paying local taxes: base managers for instance do tons of office work at their base while flying only few hours.
Pretending the local base manager is an Irish employed pilot, is just ridiculous of course: he's mainly a local office worker trying to avoid paying local taxes by misusing his capabilities as pilot for ryanair, at least on all those days he doesn't actually fly. Same goes for cabin crew instructors too, btw, isn't it, Sean?
I hope the Belgian social security didn't take a leaf from the textbook of their French counterparts, or you can basically sell your house to pay for the fines that hang over your head: MOL won't help financially if convicted: just ask the guys in France how 'helpful' he was! But then what do I know...
I actually worked for them and felt the full weight of social law when all the fiscal tricks FR cooked up, don't do the trick any longer!

777, its not because someone puts a paper on a wall, that he/she prints off before or after a flight that they "spend the majority of their time" on the ground, and further more, for training in aviation there is a whole set of other rules, so yeah ...

Don't tell me Sean, I know all those rules FR refers too, and I also experienced first hand the consequences of them being thrown out in court: if the same were to happen here in Belgium, you're not going to like it and MOL will not help you even for a second, believe me.
If all the duties which aren't litterally performed onboard are no longer accepted to be in preparation of an immediate flight, a whole bunch of staff immediately become locally employed and every single crew member becomes at least part time locally employed too.
Once again: ask the ex Frenchies still around at FR what happens if a court interprets the law strictly and to the letter!!!!

Those laws that were applicable then are no longer applicable now btw, you know good enough that that changed a few years ago. Like every other Belgian person crew pays into and has the rights of the Belgian social security system.

Ryanair today (27 October) celebrated the launch of its new Dublin to Amsterdam route, which will operate 4 times daily, as part of its winter and summer schedules.
Ryanair also announced a new route Dublin to Vigo ( its 25th Spanish airport), which will operate twice weekly from April, as part of a significantly expanded 2016 schedule.

Gli irlandesi cauti su Caselle, forse in vista dello sbarco a Malpensa - Nella stagione estiva 11 rotte in totale (Barcellona, Bari, Brindisi, Bruxelles, Catania, Ibiza, Londra, Malta, Palermo, Trapani e Valencia) per 57 voli settimanali a Torino.
Di Valencia ed Ibiza nuove destinazioni estive per il 2016, i lettori sapevano già da ieri.
Ma la conferenza stampa di oggi a Torino ha portato almeno altre due novità, queste negative.
Ryanair intende cancellare da fine marzo il volo per Eindhoven e non sembra voler riprogrammare l'Alghero estivo (ma qui ci potrebbe essere l'alternativa di Cuneo Levaldigi, anche se non ancora confermata).
La programmazione estiva di Ryanair da Pisa si arricchisce, dalla prossima primavera, di quattro nuove rotte per Berlino (tre frequenze settimanali), Catania (quotidiana), Corfù e Sofia (due volte a settimana). I nuovi collegamenti sono stati presentati da David O'Brien, direttore commerciale della compagnia low cost: “La nostra programmazione estiva prevede 48 rotte totali da Pisa e trasporterà tre milioni di passeggeri all'anno che sosterranno 2300 posti di lavoro presso il Galilei”.

Ryanair PLC and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, are close to signing a collaboration agreement, The Times reported late Friday.
IAG Chief Executive Willie Walsh revealed that meetings had taken place with Ryanair executives to come to an agreement whereby the budget airline’s extensive European network would feed passengers into Aer Lingus’s transatlantic services out of Dublin.
Walsh said that the talks had identified commercial possibilities in connecting Ryanair's flights between Poland and Ireland and offering travellers connections to fly to seven locations to which Aer Lingus flies in North America.
