On Saturday evening, a Türkish Airlines flight from Brussels to Istanbul diverted to Sofia. Het Laatste Nieuws reports that there was a laptop found onboard, lost by no one onboard. Hence a deviation to Sofia, where the police reduced the laptop to a million pieces.

An agitated passenger disrupted a Brussels Airlines flight from Oslo to Brussels Monday afternoon shortly before landing at Zaventem. The man began to pray Allah and threatened to blow up the aircraft. The man joined his hands and began to pray, claiming he had explosives able to blow up the plane. The flight attendants and two doctors tried to calm him down and he was immediately arrested by federal police on his arrival at Brussels airport. The disruptive passenger however was quickly released because it turned out he was suffering from psychological problems.

From "The Times of India":
"...A Jet Airways aircraft winging its way from Mumbai to Brussels last Friday suddenly dropped 5,000 feet in the Ankara airspace over Turkey. The commander of the Boeing 777 aircraft was taking 'controlled rest', which means a nap as per rules. The aviation regulator is now probing if the co-pilot too had dozed off..."

The (female) co-pilot has claimed she was busy on her tablet and did not notice that the aircraft had lost altitude. A call from an alarmed Ankara ATC is what jolted the pilots into action.

I bet some pax will follow the flight data a bit more closely on their monitors now.

Joking aside, isn't "George" supposed to keep the level when "he" is in charge?
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014
The two Jet Airways pilots have been suspended after their uncontrolled descent.
It seems to me that only the co-pilot should have been suspended for playing with her tablet instead of controlling the flight, whilst the pilot was resting according to the rules.

SN203 BRU-DKR Cancelled
SN243 BRU-ROB Cancelled
Were this the flights that were moved due to Ebola? Quite strange that they still appear on the biac website..

When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

SN243 is not cancelled, but replaced by SN1243 (with additional stop in DKR for crew change)woutertheboy wrote:SN203 BRU-DKR Cancelled

SN203 is cancelled because SFU is AOG in NBO.

Do you mean SN465 yesterday? It wasn't cancelled, but replaced by SN1465 which made an additional stop in NBO to help out OO-SFU (so the full itinerary was BRU-NBO-KGL-EBB-BRU)rwandan-flyer wrote:A SN flight to Kigali canceled yesterday, any infos ? Thanks
Btw:
This flight wasn't cancelled either, but postponed 24 hours and operated by EuroAtlantic B767 (CS-TRN).SFM wrote:SN203 is cancelled because SFU is AOG in NBO.

On August 16, an aircraft of the Belgian airline Brussels Airlines took off from Bastia to Brussels, leaving half the luggage on the tarmac.
The reason: the plane was too heavy because of a fuel surcharge of 1,000 liters; the crew then took the decision to abandon the baggage of one hundred passengers.
For the airline, the pilot made the right decision. The fuel surcharge is the responsibility of the company in charge of refueling aircraft at the airport of Bastia.

Not so abnormal : holidays on a business route.
Normally full on GVA-BRU leg

The return leg might have been 100% full. Don't judge a flight on a partial knowledge of its data.Charlie Roy wrote:25% load factor

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014
The Thomas Cook flight Palma-Liège of friday afternoon was delayed because of a breakdown and took off 10 hours late. Instead of going to Liège, it landed at Lille. The passengers finally reached Liège 13h30 late.
Explanations of Baptiste Van Outryve :
- the security is first in our préoccupations
- when an aircraft is late, he may lose its slot, that is to say its right to land - that is the reason for the Lille landing.
- the passengers had only the right to receive vouchers to be spend at the airport, and we gave them a sandwich, a drink and a dinner - they thus have nothing to complain about.
Typical Baptiste : the customer is always wrong ! We'll miss him ...
(Are slots so imperious at Liège airport ? And why then land at Lille and not nearer Liège, like Maastricht or even Brussels ?)

MST is closed between 2200-0600LT.
But I don't know the time the A/C arrived in LIL since that isn't mentioned in your post.
Greetings,
