My Belgian Railway Photos

Post by Comet »

A selection of photos from my Belgian Railways collection.

Image
The Kortrijk train waits in Oostende.

Image
This beauty was in Antwerp Centraal. On the destination board it said Oostende, and we boarded it along with several other people, only to hear afterwards that it was NOT the Oostende train after all (which was annoying).

Image
The station building at De Panne.

Image
I called this photo "End of the Line". It's taken at Zwankendamme.

Image
My least favourite station, reached via a subway under the main road above it. The reason why I don't go to Zeebrugge at weekends!

Image
Inside one of the old red trains on the Brugge-Zeebrugge line.

Image
Taken on arrival at my favourite Zeebrugge station, December 2007.

Image
Looking in the opposite direction at "Dorp".

Image
"Dorp" with the now-closed Suffolk Ferry bar just visible.

Image
A solitary loco heads to the docks, Zeebrugge. Taken September 2011.

Image
Kortrijk.

Image
The train from Brussels at Genval station, September 2005.

Image
Diesel loco hauling freight through Brugge, September 2005.

Image
AM75 in Antwerp Centraal. Went on one last year in Brussels, they're not too bad.

Image
A Thalys in Brussels Zuid.

Image
A Thalys travels through Brussels Noord.

Image
An AM80 ("Shitty") operating the Brussels Airport Express in Brussels Noord.

Image
AM96 in Oostende, believed to be operating the Antwerp service.

Image
Old water tower beside Oudenaarde station.

Image
Train in Oostende, may be the Eupen service.

Image
Inside the AM80. No luggage space, not ideal on an airport train. At least on others you can get luggage between seats, not on these vile things. Nice to know they're being refurbished.

Image
The other carriage on the AM80 is better if you can get on before all these seats are taken!

Image
Oostende-bound train in Antwerp Centraal.

Image
The weird (in my opinion) AM86 train in Antwerp Centraal.

Image
Train entering Brussels Noord.

Image
Airport-bound train waits in De Panne, September 2011.

Image
Freight train travelling through Brugge.

Image
Magnificent Antwerp Centraal station.

Image
Trains wait in Antwerp Centraal, September 2011.

Image
The Brussels-Amsterdam train, Brussels Noord September 2005.

Image
My favourite destination station in Belgium!

Image
The historic waiting room in Veurne.

Image
Zwankendamme!

Image
The Zeebrugge Dorp train in Brugge, September 2010.

Image
Two locos tethered together in Zwankendamme.

You should see how Genval station has changed since you took your picture: works for Express Regional Network, 4 tracks instead of 2, new parking above tracks, new road above tracks, etc...

Sounds very good Andre. We hope to go to Genval again sometime, try La Laguna again and hope for better weather!
