(SABENA?) - Minerva TT

Post by EBBU »

I have found a few pictures of a Minerva TT in SABENA colours. It was supposedly used to tow/push the meteo plane?

Is there anyone who knows more about this car or any other Minerva used by SABENA? Or used by the Regie der Luchtwegen/Régie des voies Aériennes?

memories!
The Minerva was a licenced copy of the Landrover jeep. It was in fact a pretty nice 4x4 , having better driving conditions than the Land Rover. In fact, a second hand ex-army Minerva goes more expensive than an younger ex army Land Rover.

I didn't know about this Sabena edition, but we all have seen the armoured Minerva in the museum in Brussels, with the shattered armoured glass front screen.

You still see quite often some of them in daily use by local farmers/ hunters/forrest workers in the Ardennes. Many have changed to the Indenor diesel engine which didn't ask too much trouble to build in.
