Why are flight attendants on most american companies
so old, NOT a judgement, just a question. In Europe
or Asia you noticed sometimes that flight attendants
are very young but in the USA they seems very often
more then 50/60 years old. Thanks for the answers.

On United Airlines, it is not difficult to spot those who have started their carreer with Pan Am and through acquisitions are still working today with United. I rather have them on board than those who have started their carreer with Virgin and are now working on Brussels Airlines.

@ Shanti
In a word - seniority. The longer you work for the airline the more choice you get so all the old hands take the plum trips. All the young 'uns get short haul, multi-sector flights.
If you prefer your flight attendants of tender years then I suggest you fly with the Middle eastern carriers - different altogether - the service ethic is often much better too, but that is purely subjective.

Re: american flight attendants
Ducatibiker, your post is an insult towards ex-VEX cabin crew.
Tame birds have only longings. Wild birds fly
