The first screenshot shows us the very strong winds in Eastern Europe back in october 2002. Personal note from Fuji-Monster: (Strong winds in Brussels; here in cruise 151kt=281km/h and on final it was gusty 38-51kts= 70-95km/h)

The second picture is a very recent picture (02/02/2003), flying in an Airbus 320 to Sharm El Sheikh. The A320 is flying in the same direction as the jetstream, blowing at 155 knots. The groundspeed is 621 knots = 1.150 km/hour, if cops existed above 30.000 feet somebody lost his pilot-license!Copyright Guy Daemsgreetings,luchtzak
