I guess that the spotting place at the end of rwy 26 cannot be accessed anymore.

The pictures :
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/355329/L/
This place is gone now ... :cry: :cry: :cry:

In Ostend, a new fence is being built around the airport. This means that the old wooden fence (only 1m20 high) has to disappear.
While doing this, some places that were to close to the runway are closed too ... :cry:

Here's a map of all spottersplaces at EBOS :
<img src="http://www.100megsfree3.com/osng/map.gif">

A few months ago, spot nr2 was closed. The little road has been closed as the built the new fence. Now there is a gate at the beginnening of this little road. :cry:

What Sven mentioned when he uploaded the foto, was the place at the end of the road at spot 8. The section that runs parralel to the runway is still accessable, but now they have installed a fence at the last turn of that road. This means that you can no longer get to the end ... :cry:

Spot 7 is a place inside the camping 'De Kalkaert', but this camping will be closed to within e few months or years as the groud is now propery of the airport. :cry:

The problem with these new hences is that the holes are to small to put a lens trough. This means that you need a ladder te get over the fence. And you're going to need a big ladder, cause the fence is 2m50 high :!: :!:

And as far as I know, the authoroties are not doing any effort to make a spot where spotters can take pictures ... :cry: :cry: :cry:

Is their really nothing we can do?? First they stop us from taking pictures at Abelag, now at Ostend. We don't do any harm to people, or do we?

Hmm,

I think its time to make our point to BIAC and the other airport authorities. Look in our surrounding countries (Schiphol, Frankfurt), they don't have anything against spotters, but here in Belgium... they seem to hate us!

May be we should finally go to action, were there contacts with the Airport Authorities about spotting already in the past? May be we can contact them with a petition or something?

We should convince them that we don't do anything wrong...

Indeed we should do something about this, in the spotters-article Ignace allready wrote letters to the government but without any reply! Let's unite by making a standard letter, searching the appropriate e-mailadress (xx@fgov.be) and send multiple e-mails ;-) )

ciao,
