The best on the market would fit :)

I personally recommand these:
ATI Radeon 9700 (don't take any cheap version, always the best)
Nvidea GeForce 4 (do not take the MX, since it sucks)

Unfourtunally they are not cheap...

Hehe, I didn't said run perfect.

But as far as I know the GeForce4 MX, is not a GeForce4 at all, it is a GeForce2 (nVidea uses some dirty 'sales' technices here...)

I don't have experience with the framerate in FS with GeForce4 Ti or ATI Radeon. Since I'm using a Matrox G400 and I'm only having 1 - 2 fps :)

the MX version does not support Direct-X 8
only 7 ...

minimum specs to be able to see "everything" in FS2004:
- Geforce3 (not MX!) or equivalent ATI Radeon (>= 9700 Pro)
- DX8 compliant

I have an old computer and FS2002 runs perfect, it is a:

PIII 500MHz
256 Mb ram
and a TNT2 64m Video card,

This is not a high performance machine. But when I reduce the quality of the screen I can get a good result. I can advise u also another thing before start Fs2002 press Ctrl + alt+ del and close a number of programs that are running on the background. That is what I do on my pc in win98.

I can support the statement of liebensd... I have AMD duron 700MHz // 256Ram // RivaTNT2 and it runs also perfect for FS2002. (NOT for FS2004)

But i have a problem when i play FS2002 online=> at the begining of the multiplayer (internet) game my plane is 1 feet under the rwy and fs detects a crash. So i can't take off!!! (only with a bell i can play online) Can somebody help me please!!!!!

Thanks..... dEvo

lemme just inform u of this: it makes no sence of buying a radeon 9800Pro if u only have a 1Ghz PC. WHat i want to say is that the type of videocard u need also depends on ur system.

Secondly @ thomascoockie: if ur computer is getting slow, it wont help if u buy a new videocard. A newer videocard will NOT give u more frames per second. If u want more fps, buy a new processor and expand your memory!

i hope i helped some peepz out w/ this.

Rutger
The restarts could be for any number of reasons. I would recommend joining the PCmech.com forums and posting a request for info. If they can't answer your problem no one can. They are also very friendly

Sorry for my questions
I have a
2,5GHZ
256MB ram
80GB
geforce MX460
I play FS (completly not default:many scenery and add-ons) but I have a problem
When I start the flight, but before I can do that I have to wait about 20sec before I have set the cockpit ( 2 monitors ,so I have to set the panels) then when I start the taxi it when I look around in my cockpit I also have to wait several seconds. I guess =my framerate drops to rates that make it unpleasing to play.
What is the cheapesd solution for my problem :
---upgrade my comp and how then??? (new card and higher mb ram)
---or by a comp (with what specifications??)
I would like to have then a comp that also is suitable for fs2004

thanx
Bram

i would suggest buying another 256Mb ram and look at the result. If u are not satisfied yet, u can buy a new videocard.
