An other new route in the pipeline. Jet Airways will also open the route Mumbai-Brussels-Chicago.

I don't know if they will announce this new route tomorrow.

Saw the 777-300ER, a whisperjet!

Post by BrightCedars »

The 777-300ER flew by our penthouse 5th floor balcony yesterday evening and it was a magnificient bird to sight. Most impressive besides the size factor is the silence factor: a 737 of Lufthansa was following and it was much noisier than sleek new 777. I think 787 landings won't be noticeable at this pace.

According to the website of the prime minister, he's supposed to
give his speech at 14.30. Here's a copy taken from his - top secret :)- schedule : "woensdag 2 mei 2007 14.30u Toespraak n.a.v. de lancering van Jet Airways, Luchthaven, Zaventem"

Back on the map?

Post by BrightCedars »

It looks like Brussels is being put back on the map suddenly!

So up to 6 daily flights to India and a potential other 6 corresponding North American destinations! Waouw!

Definitely a good share of business for Brussels Airlines with transitting India passengers. Maybe the share of Virgin Group is being transferred to Jet Airways and that is being announced today?

Can't wait to get all the crispy details.

Does somebody knows whether the Jet Airways is still at the same place as this morning?

Are there any plans on replacing it for the event?

Thanks,
Robin

Well, I flew just into BRU (landing with LH 4576 from FRA shortly after 13h00 and both planes were parked in front of the SN technics hangar. Nice view, but it did not look like any preparations for a big event were under way. But maybe everything prepared so top-secret, that I did not see it while approaching ...

The ceremony will probably take place in the hangar 41 and they will open the doors of the hangar for demonstrating the aircraft ?

I quote from the Mr. Verhofstadt's speech :
"More specifically, as of August there will be four return Mumbai-Brussels-New York and Delhi-Brussels-Toronto flights per day. Starting in 2008, that will rise to six flights.... "
I wonder if there is a market for so many flights....

If you read the speech it is four flights a day: ie one New York, one Toronto, one Mumbai and one Delhi. Still very nice though.
Anyone knows if they are setting up a crew base in BRU?

Of course I understand what he meant, but if you read this sentence literally, it says will be four flight Mumbay-Bru-New york a day...
The wording is a little confusing if you ask me...
