Dutch F16 crashed in Afghanistan, pilot killed

Defence has stated that they rule out enemy fire, because the F16 was flying too high for enemy weapons to be able to reach it. They assume it is an accident.

The pilot didn't survive the crash.

was the pilot too scared to bail out above hostile territory? No wonder after I just saw a documentory about the dutch F-16 pilots in Afghanistan. Such a hot shot, Top Gun types. It will remind them about basic physics: every airplane comes down again. Deliberately or not.

The dutch Defence can say what they want. But the recent Israeli invasion in the Lebanon stopped a day after the first modern SAM's were taking out the first israeli aircraft. The Dutch said: " there are no weapons in the hands of the taliban" But if there were, there is a big problem. The Stingers made a turning point against the Russians ; the Igla's do the same job.
