Hello
Nice pics again.
Splendid weather the last days , but hot.
Actually a bit a hell (when you're studying )
Anyway , I still was able to spot some contrails just a hour today.
Nothing really special , but LOTS of Emirates. 3 x ER A330-200 in 5min , they where flying right behind each other , in almost exact the same path.
Hope to see more great pics in the next coming days
Best regards: Yannick

I've seen them too, within a minute or 3 from the east to the west. And about 15 minutes later an Emirates B777 passed the same route.Bruspotter wrote:Hello

Today, Sunday June the 11th, sunny conditions with most planes having contrails, but the heat waves made it unpossible to make good shots during the day. No big deal as it was way to hot to stay outside.
But here a grip of late aftenoon/evening traffic.
Around 1539LT, JAL B773 JA731J heading south.
Around 1734LT, frequent visitor Saudia B772 heading W.
Around 1904LT, Virgin Atlantic A340-600 on its last leg to U.K.
Around 2059LT, another visitor to the U.K.: Cyprus Airways A332.
Around 2116LT, heading W one of two Travel Service B734 in Malaysia c/s.
Two minutes later, after a EBLG departure, this climbing BAe146 of TNT heading W.
Around 2124LT, a bizz in form of B737-800(WL) of Lowa heading east: VP-BZL.
And finaly also heading E, around 2136LT the colorful appearance of SkyEurope's B737-700(WL) OM-NGD.

Nice pictures, how did you make those (camera/lens)? And what about focus?Skystef wrote:Today, Sunday June the 11th, sunny conditions with most planes having contrails, but the heat waves made it unpossible to make good shots during the day. No big deal as it was way to hot to stay outside.

Thx you both.teddybAIR wrote:Nice pictures indeed, I like the one of the JAL B773!
What equipment do you use to take the pics?
I use:
- a chair
- a tripod
- Canon EOS 300D
- Sigma 50-500mm,
- all contrails taken with 500mm, manual settings and a shutter speed of minimum 1/250s (lower = blurred), but not higher than 1/500s (higher = vignetted).
The almost zenithal shots like the JAL777 give the best results as the distance is the smallest. Disadvantage: there is a lot of belly, thus a small angle is favorable to recognize the bird. Back light, meaning the plane has sunlight on its fuselage are my favorites: this includes 80% of "my" W bound traffic. On the contrary E bound traffic lies to "my" south, so mostly avoided except for the early/late summertime hours.

Wow i like the thomsonfly 767 Skystef, the other day i was watching a thomsonfly through my telescope and it just happened to cross in front of a full moon WITH the last of the suns rays. Sadly no photo
No photos for a while due to bad thunderstorms, still fun to watch thunderstorms though
Taken from last week was this one, no idea of the airline, perhaps someone could help?
Heading W to the US
Thanks

Haven't had the opportunity to make planes accross the Moon, btw it ain't easy to get such thing sharp & see something of the colors of the plane self. A black silhouette seems quite easy, but of course there is still a lot of luck needed to see it crossing the Moon.
Your pic seems to match with an A310-300 of Air Transat in o/c: pic

Most probably it's the VP-BAT from Worldwide Aircraft Holdings in old Qatariomag wrote:Today I spotted this 747-sp model, going eastbound around midday...
I know the pictures aren't the best, but does anyone recognize the airline?
gvmt c/s. It visited BRU back in March. When you say it flew eastbound, it was
probably coming from the UK, where it is regulary visiting (London-Heathrow,
Bournemouth,...).
