On Feb 25th, 1995 for 4h35 on board of VR-HHY Cathay Pacific between NRT and HKG. A very nice flight.

I flew in August 1997 from Amman to Brussels in a Royal Jordanian Tristar.
Nice flight, film was showed on the main screen during the 4,5 hour flight (no PTV's at that time of course).
Nice experience.

Back in 1998, I flew BRU-IBZ with an Aer Turas L115 operating for SLR. Registration of the bird was EI-CNN but 1 year after my flight it was scrapped.

I can't remember much about it, or the dates for that matter. But it was a flight STL-MCO with TWA (going to Disney World!!!!). Perhaps the fact that it was operated by TWA and they were using the L-1011 could give you some idea of the time....

I remember them having headphones and a projector. I can't remember though if they had staggered tv's in the main cabin as well.....

Hey,

Yep, I flew Air Transat on BRU-YMX (Montreal Mirabel) and then back with the same plane.

I was onboard at the time of this picture:

I flew Air Transat LGW - YVR it may have been an old plane but it had very comfortable seating. Entertainment was projected on to a screen at the front of the cabin.

I flew from BRU to HRG in January this year...
CS-TEB (EuroAtlantic Airways) was doing temporary the flights instead of OO-TUC, which had some technical problems...
There was a projector on board, but it didn't work...

Hi all !

Enjoyed a few flights in Tristars ( back in the 80s and 90s ) :

180582 LGW-MSY British AW Tristar 500 G-BFCF
300582 MSY-LGW British AW Tristar 500 G-BFCE
290587 HKG-MNL Cathay Pacific Tristar 1 VR-HHV
201093 ATL-MCO Delta AL Tristar 250 N735D
071193 BRU-ATL Delta AL Tristar 500 N756DR
101193 ATL-HNL Delta AL Tristar 250 N740DA
191193 HNL-LAX Delta AL Tristar 1 N785DL
201193 ATL-BRU Delta AL Tristar 500 N766DA
220694 BRU-ATL Delta AL Tristar 250 N741DA
240694 ATL-BRU Delta AL Tristar 500 N766DA
120295 BRU-ATL Delta AL Tristar 500 N764DA
190295 TPA-ATL Delta AL Tristar 1 N729DA
190295 ATL-BRU Delta AL Tristar 500 N769DL
231096 LAX-OGG Delta AL Tristar 250 N736DY

All flights were in economy class except MSY-LGW (BA Club class) and BRU-ATL in June 1994 (DL Business Class).
I liked the aeroplane a lot.
Could be very noisy in the back however.
Remember being stuck for about 4hrs30min in the middle seat of a row of 5 (!) during a night flight HNL-LAX but DL did what they had to do : get us there on time !

Btw, can't wait to fly on one of those A380s !!!

Cheers,

Must be a weird feeling to see a picture of a plane and to know that you were actually in one of the seats inside...even more special if it's one of the two front seats probably

Flew once in a Tristar from Salt Lake City to JFK with Delta. I remember that there were no overhead bins on the middle, thus creating a lot of space. It looked like a church in there.

Apart from that the tristar seemed to have difficulty taking from Salt Lake City as we had to unload some cargo because the temperature had risen and the wind was gone. When we finally taxied to the runway, the captain burned a lot of fuel at the end of the runway before turning on the runway with the engines already at almost full power. The take-off roll seemed to last forever.

Cheers,

Stij

Been on several up to the late 80's and early 90's. Flew on BA, Air Lanka and Gulf Air tristars from the UK to DXB or BAH. Think I flew on one to Spain once as well - again on BA or British Airtours.

THey were OK and remember being up in the cockpit a couple of times though have to say I preferred going on DC10's to Dubai at the time. Maybe becasue it was BCal service rather than the plane itself!!!
