KLM is launching new service to Hyderabad, India from winter IATA 05. This will be 3x weekly service.

India and Netherlands signed a new ASA which gives Netherlands rights to fly to BOM,DEL,CCU and HYD or MAA. Currently they fly daily to DEL.

Present 7 freq/week
IATA Winter 05 14 freq/week
IATA Summer 06 21 freq/week
No more than 7 fq/week to any point in India.

yep, I've read recently that AF, KL and NW are going to focus on India.

Hello. This is great news. They have still a few frequencies left. On which destination will KLM spend those frequencies? Could they return to Kolkata, or will they choose for Madras?

KLM Announces New Service between Amsterdam and Hyderabad

Beginning October 30, 2005, Northwest Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch new joint venture service between Amsterdam and Hyderabad, India. KLM will serve the route three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays using MD-11 equipment. The new flights will connect with trans-Atlantic services operated by Northwest and KLM at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and will serve to strengthen SkyTeam's position as the Number One alliance in the rapidly expanding Indian market.

As previously announced, Northwest Airlines is scheduled to begin new service between Amsterdam and Bangalore beginning on October 30, 2005. The new services to both Hyderabad and Bangalore will complement existing daily Northwest flights from Amsterdam to Mumbai, and daily KLM flights from Amsterdam to Delhi.

Through its joint venture with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Northwest has provided service to India since October 1997.
